My car trunk key broke in half, and half of it is stuck inside the lock, which I cannot see, but it works with half of key. How do I get the rest of it out?
You need to have the trunk open and the lock unlocked first then you can get the barrel out of the lock and remove the broken part of the key,,,so dont lock the trunk till you get it fixed,,,

Some simple things can work. Does the key turn? No? spray some releasing oil, (WD40 type), into the key hole and leave it to soak in for at least ten minutes. You might need a small screwdriver to open the spring loaded cover on the front of the lock. If the key turns try pushing down ******* the trunk lid to take the pressure of the latch.
Can you get access to the trunk from inside the vehicle by dropping the rear seats? Get a helper to push down on the trunk lid, climb into the trunk from inside the vehicle. There should be an emergency pull cord in the centre of the vehicles rear panel. Pull and hold this cord and get your helper to repeatedly push down and pull up on the trunk lid. This might 'pop' the trunk.
inside the lock is too dry ,rusty, just moving the key spray W-40 as mush as you can, wait for a few minutes then move the key on both sides but doing slow ,if this no helps you,go inside of the car and remove the back seat to get in to the trunk to open the trunk so you need replace the lock system good luck
LOOK FOR A SMALL FLAT ROD THAT COMES THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE TRUNK LOCK YOU SOULD BE ABLE TO TURN THAT WITH A PLIERS. YOU'LL NEED TO TURN IT SO IT IS STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN AND IT SHOULD LATCH
By switching the lever you locked the inside trunk release, you will need to put lever back. as far as the trunk you may need to remove the rear seat, pop lower part out and then remove the bolts to the top half of the seat then try to reach the lever so it will open from the inside. i've found that many of these cars with the pop lever inside have sticking trunk locks from not being used, what you do first is spary lock good, with wd40 or pb blaster then slide key in and out and try to turn this may take a whhile but it works then tumbler will free up, you just have to keep spraying inside lock and working the key.
think you might have to go in through seat to release it ,something broke inside the boot lid ,last one i done it was the piece that pushed the release mechanism inside on the lock
you can open it with a key? right? if so, sometimes there is a "lock out" lever near the trunk latch, the owners manual can show you where it is and if its in the locked position, it wont let the trunk open. The reason is.......if someone broke into your car, they cant just open the trunk.
First you need to take the inside panel off of your door. Then there is a clip holding your key lock in place which you need to remove and pop out the lock. Take the outer case apart and slowly remove the broken key without damaging the tumblers.
