Your vertical IC may need resolder. You may have a bad capacitor or two that created an extra warm IC and create bad grounds. So resolder and check those caps near and around your vertical IC. If you continue to see this horizontal line you may have to replace the vertical IC. And you may as well check all grounds as well. Good Luck and be careful!

My moniter screen go's dark with a bright horizontal white line in center ..it flickers

the driver board is bad in the monitor. Has it been in a place that is super hot like in a car? If the verticle driver chip disconnects from the matrix driver array, it will all squish into a single line in the middle of the screen like you are describing.. might try opening and blowing where the driver board connects to the LCD matrix (bunch of connectors on a plastic flat cable/bus connecting to the end of the LCD panel.. heating them could allow them to reconnect.. Its worth a try, right? It has worked for me about 60% time.

Horizontal lines high and low on screen top and bottom also bright flecks of red color

Are the bright flecks of red color where it is supposed to be black? That could the one of the sustain boards going out also could cause the horizontal lines too depending on the board - worst case scenario - would be a bad ribbon cable on the panel itself - best case scenario - plug the tv in to an outlet that is by itself to isolate interference as a possibility.

Thanks,

This could be a capacitor if your lucky but can also be the horizontal transistor. The repair could cost you between 60$ and 150$
My opinion; it's not worth it.

Hi There,
If your picture has collapsed to just a horizontal line across the center of the screen, this indicates that your Vertical Output circuit is bad and needs to be serviced by a qualified technician. I hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

TV: bright line across black screen for several hours.

vertical output ic needs to be resoldered. careful leaving that bright line displayed on the screen as this will cause a permanent phosphor burn into the tube. this can not be corrected once burned unless you replace the tube. mch

Thin white horizontal line center of screen!

The set should have a vertical output IC,You need to change it ,maybe you can check the B+ going to it because it might have opened the safety resistor if the IC went bad.You can check for broken board too unless the set is never move from one place.Be carefull when checking voltages ,there is still high voltage, not much but can num your whole hand.
