Hello, I have a fridge/freezer hoover

Hello,

I have a fridge/freezer hoover model HCA36FTALU. Frost is forming on the back wall of the 2nd and 3rd shelf in the fridge compartment. The fridge is on a level floor and I don't know what can be causing the excess frosting. Could you please advised. Thank you in advance. - Eric

You have a defrost issue, while not familiar with hoover, normally there is a defrost timer, a defrost heater and a defrost thermostat, one of these three things are not operating. (may be more than one )

The freezer on my French door fridge is forming frostl. Why is this happening.

Is it frost on the freezer inside back wall or inside freezer towards the freezer door on the top of inside freezer box. If back wall then you have a defrosting problem. If it is towards freezer door then you have door seal problem and moist room air is getting inside your freezer.

Why is ice forming in freezer

Ice layer inside freezer box floor - Defrost drain line clogged.

Frost or ice on freezer box top - Room air leaking into the fridge from door seals.

Frost on the Freezer box back wall means unit is not defrosting properly.

Why do i have frost on the inside?

frost forms from either the door being left open,a ripped gasket, when warm and cold air meet frost forms, also if the back inside wall of the freezer is frosted up you could have a defrost problem, bad defrost thermostat, heater timer or board depending on the model number.if the warm air got in say overnight you could have a problem with the fridge not getting cold, usually the air ducts freeze up.if it's in the freezer look at the door, you might find ice on the door where the warm air was coming in and also you'll see frozen water droplets on the packages and walls

Lack of freon isn't an issue. Check the internal fan between the freezer and fridge. It is usually located behind the back panel in the freezer. If not there, check upper back of fridge. The internal fan blows the cold air from the freezer to the fridge. When it goes out, the freezer will freeze but the fridge won't cool.

Build up of ice in bottom of freezer compartment

During the defrost cycle heaters in the wall of the freezer are turned on to melt the frost build up. This melted frost "water" is supposed to run out a drain in the bottom of the freezer and collect in a pan under the refrigerator/freezer where it will eventually evaporate. If this drain is blocked it will cause a lot of water to collect in the bottom of the freezer and that water will eventually turn back into ice. I recommend defrosting the freezer manually, removing all the ice/water buildup in the bottom, and trying to unplug the drain line to the pan underneath. Also check the seal on the freezer door. If it's not sealing well it could be letting a lot of moisture enter the freezer which would lead to more frost buildup and more water during the defrost cycle.
