First try pressing the DISP or DISPLAY button to make sure that you didn't accidentally turn off the LCD. But if that's not the case...
Try taking and downloading a picture taken while the screen is blank. Is the picture also blank? If so, a stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).
To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help. Read the users comments there also for more tips.
i have a canon zr60a all seems to work fine but it seems to have the shutter closed and ive tried everything .can anyone please help i bought it from a lady needing to pay a bill wonted to help but seems she stuck it to me ....lol now im the one needs help thanks [email protected]
HI, this model has had many issues with the nature of the screen connections and , flip switch as well. you will need to contact your local provider or, you can send this unit to Moto for a board replacement procedure.
One head cleaner cassette later the problem was fixed. Not only do you get Noise on the video you can actually get no video at all if theheads are dirty enough I guess.
I have the same problem my friend . My Chocolate has been working fine for nearly 7 months now . And randomly it just de-pixellized infront of my eyes and the screen broke down to pure white . I suggest taking it in to a cellphone store for them to have a look at it .
I need more information about what symptoms you are experiencing.
I am going to guess that your shutter is stuck closed. This would cause a blank image to show on the view screen and your captured pictures. The regular icons and text would still display normally. Is this what you are seeing? If not please explain further what is happening and I will respond again with more information.

Thanks for that link, I will keep it handy!
Be careful however, because the exact same symptom can be caused by a stuck shutter. To tell if it is a stuck shutter follow these steps:
1. Turn off the flash!!
2. Look down into the lens.
3. Take a picture.
Did you see anything change? The opening at the center should be momentarily covered by a matte black shield. If you take a picture and see no change inside the lens then the shutter is stuck closed or open.
If Canon finds your shutter to be stuck and not a CCD failure, the repair will not be free.. very not free.
