Desktop Icons When I put a short cut Icon on my Desktop and then click on to open it doe's not work

If you mean a link to a website address on your desktop, then right click on the desktop, point the mouse to "new" and wait for the submenu, and select "shortcut". It will ask you for an address or location. Enter, or copy and paste the website address that you want the icon to link to and press return. Next it will ask you to name it.....type in whatever you want the icons caption to be, and press return. That should put your new icon on the desktop. Test it to make sure it works. Hope this helps.

Are you inquiring on "HOW TO" put a short cut on your desktop?
There are many ways to this but before performing any of this methods, ensure that your Windows Desktop icons are visible.
Simply right click on a empty space on your desktop.
Select View, make sure "Show Desktop Icon" is checked.
If its checked follow either one of the steps below:
1)
Right click on a empty area on the desktop and select "New" the followed by "Shortcut".
Click on "Browse" and select the file or program. Click "Next" followed by "Finish".
You may choose to change the Shortcut name before selecting "Finish"
2)
Go to the directory where your file or program is located.
Right click on the icon and select "Create Short cut".
A shortcut will be created in the same directory.
Select the shortcut and drag it to the desktop.
And you are done!.

You might have deleted the icons click to open the Recycle Bin once open you could see your icons click restore items

If the icons are not in the recycle bin click start all programs right click on the program you need the icon click send to desktop to create short cut

Start>All Programmes>Right click on "Open Office">Send to>Desktop
Then you will find the short cut icon on your Desktop.

THis is happening when the program that patronize the shortcut is no longer existent in the system ...or the location was changed ...Just delete all short cuts that does that ...and make new ones from the start /all programs ..or for programs installed in a different director (folder) and not in C/program files.. just go to the installation location and make a new short cut..
If my computer and my documents ...and the other original windows desktop icons make the same ...just delete them ..than ..right click on desktop ...choose properties..than desktop ...here you will find customize desktop ...and in there just tick all cases for icons you want on desktop ...This action will place again the original icons on desktop ..For the rest just make new shortcuts from the original execution of the program ...

IN normally Windows XP desktop have only the recycle bin icon

If you want you can put the mycomputer icon from

start then select mycomputer right click and check the send it to desktop

For other icons

start and select the program and right click and select create shot cut

hi that would be simple if you find the folder in which the web cam icon is located right click on the icon scroll down to send another window should open up on the side then click on desktop(shortcut) this should put the icon as a short cut on the desk top.
NB:
the icon that you right click on must be the icon that acesses & activates the crystal eye web cam.
