My HP Compaq Presario V4000 does not boot, and keeps restarting. What do i do? I have a lot of important data!
I'm taking a guess that there is a flashing blue screen right before it restarts. If so then try running the check disc utility.
If that doesn't resovle it then take out any devices you have plugged into the machine and try again.
If that doesn't work then back up your data and reformat.
The way you can do this is boot in safe mode like the above comment. If you can't do that then you can get either a SATA or PATA to USB connector and remove your hard drive and transfer the files.
Any more details would be appreciated.
Can you boot up in safe mode? hit F8 while booting up, if you can then back up all DATA and try using system restore function to go back to the day before you have this problem.
Firstyou have to make sure that the charger out an electric current in thecable that connects to the device and make sure that you then testedusing a device for measuring DC and if it works well there is a problemin the motherboard or the power switch
BOOT FROM NTFS BOOTABLE DISK.. TAKE BACKUP FROM C DRIVE. THEN RESTORE UR XP WITH RESTORE OPTION.. OTHERWISE FORMAT C DRIVE.
