I have same problem. Everything worked great until I started using Vista.

I also downloaded all fixes and drivers. I am also getting cartridge errors;followed by usb connection error. Vista is the problem--who has a solution?

I have the same problem with a Dell Desktop running XP with a A940 connected via USB. Wireless router in home. 2 Laptops (HP & Toshiba) running Vista will not connect. Oddly enough, have a HP & Lexmark attached to another desktop in the same house and the laptops print fine to these...

    Thanks for any assistance.

Same problem with my NEW $500.00 Vista and Dell A940 printer, I cannot do anything! And they didn't even send me the one I ordered, said I had to order and pay for what was supposed to be included in my original ordered. Like for one a modem!
I have no solution, but I think Dell knew this problem was going to occur. Otherwise they would of made sure Vista was compatible with there other products.
So what it adds up to is Dell is counting on people having to order/pay for a new printer that is compatible. I already have a $269.00 Dell printer, I and no one else should have to buy another one!
Talk about bad business ethics.
