I think that exact replacement switch is not available.

Grainger has a different style that may work.
2LNA7 $11.09 / each

OR, you can adapt a toggle switch.

Cummins model C-140 Bench Grinder. Can I get an owners manual please?

There is a similar one on eBay, but no free ones. Cummins are known for diesel engines rather than grinders, which means someone else made it and put a Cummins badge on it. Take your pick from any of these.

https://www.google.com/search?q=8%22+Bench+Grinder+manual

They don't need much of a manual anyway, most of the content is on safety. Press switch to turn on and off, one arbor is right hand thread, the other is left hand thread.

My 6 inch Cummins bench grinder stopped working. When you turn on the switch it only has a quiet hum. Is it the capacitor?

Try wrapping a thin cord around the shaft many times to allow the shaft to be spun in the normal running direction when pulled. Pull sharply on the cord and turn the motor on--if the starting capacitor is bad, the motor should continue to run until shut off. If there is no capacitor, then the motor uses a start winding and a centrifugal switch to start. The switch is supposed to open when the motor comes up to speed. If you used to hear a loud 'click' when the motor was shut off and slowing down, then you likely have the start winding and switch. If the contacts on the switch become burned and not make contact, then it will display the symptoms you mention. You will need to access one or the other end covers to reach the switch. Hope this helps!

17202 8'' bench grinder 3yrs old hasent run 1 hr needs on off switch wilton stated after 6mos of waiting for soposed back order that co that maid these for wilton is out of business they said try lowe;s...

go to your local marina and buy a simple on off switch or take the wires off the switch on your grinder and hook them up to a extension cord and put an inline light switch on the cord.

Need brushes and on-off switches for milwaukee 6140-6 hand grinders is this grinder obsolete?

I would need the exact model number and serial number to help but the brush number is 22-18-0710 and there could be a couple different switches. Either give the ser number (the alpha code) or you can go direct to Milwaukeeelectrictool.com and type in the model number 6140 on the page for the breakdown. it might be easier to let me do it. I worked there for 17 years and if you can't get the alpha code look at the switch and I would need a good description of it

Grinder won't stay running

The capacitor is easy to change and can be matched once you remove it by any electronics parts house.

Bench Grinders Featues

A bench grinder is a very simple tool. The units are usually listed as 6-inch or 8-inch wheel models, and the 8-inch units are typically a bit more powerful, and subsequently more expensive. A 6-inch model will usually be powered by a 1/2 HP motor, where the 8-inch will be larger, likely 3/4 HP. Two very useful features to look for are a mounted work light, which will directly illuminate your work, and an adjustable rest, which functions much like the tool rest on a lathe. Strongly consider models which have both features. Many also include a clear, see-through spark guard, which will help keep any sparks from flying toward your face. A word of caution, though: such a guard does not replace safety goggles.
