Memory card showing 'no image' after trying to upload

I tried to upload my pics from an Olympus FE-370 memory card to my computer using a usb cable. After the computer scanned it a message came up that there were errors. I unplugged it and when I checked the camera for the pics it said 'no image' Before uploading there was only space for 7 more pics. This was the same after the attempt to upload the pics just can see the previously taken pics

Sounds like you didn't use the "safely remove hardware" function when you disconnected the USB cable. This can corrupt the card and even the camera. You could try using a separate card reader to download the pics from the card. If that works, and the pics are safely downloaded, then you should format the card in the camera to erase and optimize it. If it doesn't work, take the card to a Walmart that has a Kodak Picture Kiosk and it should be able to read your card. You can print the pics or even make a cd of them. Then, format the card in the camera.

I lost the cord for my camera and just bought a new one. Why won't my computer recognize this devise and upload my pics to my pc?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Olympus FE-370 I have 10 pictures on the camera (tok pics without realising there was no card inside!), but I cant seem to save them to the memory card - I have lost the lead for the camera. Is there...

See page 34 of the manual (available for free download from Olympus below).

http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/FE-370_X-880_C-575_Instruction_Manual_EN.pdf

Or in short, select the "Setup" (tools) menu, and then select "Backup". You'll need to have the memory card installed for the transfer.

Olympus fe 370 xd card 2gb formatted memory

As long as the xD card was not formatted it is possible to recover the images that were accidently erased, lost or corrupted. You can go to the following website link and download an image recovery software program that is free of charge. http://www.z-a-recovery.com/ You want to download a program called Zero Assumption Recovery. It is a very simple program to use and many people have had much success in recovering lost images. Data recovery is a booming industry, and many appropriate services and software can be found by searching regional phone and business directories or the Internet for terms such as "image recovery" or "data recovery".

Question

Heres a link to order a cable from Olympus

Usually Olympus products use a USB cable with a standard size plug on one end and a "d" shaped end on the other end. Most computer stores are carrying cables like that.

The other option you could try is to get a card reader for XD memory cards. There inexpesive. All you do is remove the memory card from the camera and place it into the card reader.

Olympus camera fe 240

You can transfer the photos directly from the camera to the PC using the USB cable that came with the camera. You don't need to transfer the pics to memory card first.

Connect the cable to the camera and the PC. Turn on the camera and your PC will recognise it as an external storage device. Use the PC's software to transfer the photos from camera to PC.

Once you have the pics on the PC you can use the Olympus Master software included with the camera to edit and archive the photos on the PC.
