My sony cybershot camera was working great when i bought it, and it would take the picture instantly when i pushed the button, but now it is on a 4 second delay. How on earth do i re-set the flash to a quicker picture taking mode?

Yep, Same problem, flash and shutter out of sync.

I spoke to help desk monkey at Sony, he advised to reset settings (you don't lose pics)

    To do this:

    Menu

    Setup

    Setup 1

    Initialize

    Ok

This will turn off the camera then restart immediately. You will the

n need to enter time/date settings.

I tried this, It seemed to work for a few shots then flash and shutter were still out of sync.

I'm looking at £114.56 for official sony repair.

Can anyone suggest a cheaper, non official repairer?

    Thanks

Camera want flash sony dsc-h3

If it flashes when you take any photo then you have the flash set to manual override for each shot or you're just shooting in areas too dark for any photos without the flash. Check your flash settings or try a factory default reset from the camera's menu options.

SONY CYBERSHOT DSC - H3 DIGITAL CAMERA FLASH PROBLEM

Hi Jim,
Have you tried resetting all settings on the camera? On a Sony camera, it is called "initialize". The initialize setting is found by going to the menu, and tabbing down until you find an option called either "reset settings" or "initialize settings" and then confirm it.
Many times that will fix the issue, in case something has either been enabled/disabled on accident, or the software is sticking (which happens from time to time)

Error E91:01 on DSC H7

If the camera works in all other respects, then that has something to do with the flash setting or some other setting in the menus. But this sounds like something with the flash directly.

Here is a link which may be able to help on the DSC H7: http://www.aakatz.com/whitepaper/whitepaper/appendix2.htm

Try also to reset all the menu setting back to what it was for the factory. Most digital cameras have a setting for that, and usually is something like "RESET ALL" or something close to that.

If nothing works, then the camera needs repair. This is an error to do with the flash only, it appears. So some of the internal parts could be weak, thus causing the error.

E:61:00 Focus Error

Hey peter grifin,
Sony actually calls resetting the camera initializing, and to initialize the camera first take the battery out for about one minute and then reinsert the batteries. Next you want to go to the setup menu and find initialize and press the up arrow to OK and press enter and a message should appear saying "initialize all settings ready?" now press the up arrow back to OK and press enter. This process should reset your camera back to factory settings. If this doesn't work you could bring the camera in to a Geek Squad® precinct at a Best Buy™ store, and they should be able to send it out for service.

Sincerely,
Allan
