You should take it to the photo shop to ask for repair service, I guess it works! Impact from shock(fall) can misplace the components in the camera and it can't resolve by only turning on and off the camera.
May be you had it wet or dropped it.If wet just remove the battery and allow it to dry under a fan but NEVER TRY TO HEAT IT and then turn it on.If it's not the problem check the battery output and consider replacing with a new one if expired.
A lot of Kodak's have a powersaving feature that turns the screen off to save battery life. Push the menu button while the camera is on and see if something pops up. If it does, the powersaver is on and can easily be turned on through the camera menu.
I can't say 100% but it sounds similar to the problem I had with the same model . The sleep mode in the on/off switch had gone bad and a new switch fixed the problem. It was about $42 to rtepair at my local electronics repair shop. Hope this helps.
