I have the same problem. I was told by my home warranty part cost is over $500, but I have not been able to find anyone that sells it. A temporary solution is to unplug refrigerator, remove the panel at the back side of the freezer and defrost the evaporator. You have to slide out the shelves and remove 6 screws. Warm water works pretty well as a fast defrost method. When finished replace the panel and plug back in. My refrigerator works for another 7-10 days before freezing again.

My first symptom was no water from the front, so I pulled the fridge out to check water line, water pressure was fine. Turns out the fridge was frosted up behind the lower shelf which froze up the water for the water line in a white plastic radiator shaped dohickey. Anyway after removing all the shelfs and storage bins I removed 7 screws and carefully defrosted the fridge evaporator coil with a sharper image hair dryer, the plastic housing w/fan was stuck to the ice at the bottom so it took about 40 minutes with the hair dryer. This problem was with the fride portion,no problem with the freezer so far. I tested the fan after defrosting, when you push in the door switch the fan should start in about 10-15 seconds, fan tested fine. I'm going to leave the fride set @ 38 degrees and see what happens over the next few weeks. My fridge is a samsung rs2545sh so others models may or may not be similar. Good Luck, I know I have my fingers crossed.

Temperature light started flashing 40 degrees when I unplugged the fridge and plugged it back in the panel will not light up at all anymore and nothing works except the lights in the refrigerator. There is 1 single light that is lit up on the outside LED panel but that is all. I left it unplugged overnight but when I plugged it in in the morning nothing happened still. Any suggestions? Mine is a RS 2545 SH

I am experiencing the same problem. I noticed about a month ago that a couple of cans of soda had frozen, so I turned the fridge temp up a few degrees. I had been traveling and working long hours, the fridget hadn't been opened much and I assumed that was the problem. Then about a week and half ago I noticed that the fridge temp light was blinking, and then over Easter weekend the top shelf seemed lukewarm, while the rest of the fridge seemed fine.

I will see if the fan is frozen, as suggested here, and hopefully that will resolve the problem.

If not, I must set out in quest of finding a repair service...

Have a two year old Samsung side by side. A couple weeks ago, the refrigerator side light started flashing at the 34 degree level, during day hours. By morning it would be sloid again. Yesterday morning I got up and the indicator read 43 degrees. I put a solid ice block inside, and the temperature went down to 34. Noe today when I left for work the indicator read 52 degrees. Should i unplug this as from the previous suggestions?

I have the SAMSUNG RS2545SH from Costco also. This is the second time the freezer side temp light has been blinking and everything thaws out. Last time after a day or two it just started working again. Doesn't sound like Samsung cares to fix their product. Mine is only a year old. I will haul it back to Costco if I have to.....

I have the same problem with a different model, RS267LASH. Go to this link

    http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/refr...

and check out the procedure (on page two) outlined for forcing the frige into defrost mode.

This will save you from having to live out of an ice chest while the techs scratch their heads as they can't fix the frige. Perform the forced defrost every 24 hours and let it go through its cycle.

I have ordered a new PBA Main Board and that is what fixed the same problem 10 months ago.

Control board has gone bad....

What happens is the defrost is controlled electronically from a circuit board, when this goes bad, the freezer quits defrosting, and freezes the fans that circulate air through the fridge side of things.

To check this, unplug the entire fridge, leave the freezer open, wait for it to defrost a bit, if this causes the fridge to start cooling again when you plug it back in, then its the defrost. You should also see ice crystals on the back of the freezer just under the icemaker.

Successfully, I finaly fixed my refridge. I have the same problem like above. I replay heater, 2 sensors, and PBA board also; but it didn't work. The evap-coil is still freezing but the refridge temp goes 55* to 60*. The solution: make sure the drain below evap-coil NOT stuck. Everytime the refridge defrosts, water from evap can't run out. The drain is block. Therefore, it keeps freezing in evap-coil and fan, so it makes fan stop working. I use the air pressure to make the drain clear. Hope, you can fix your! Thanks for read this!

Blinking Fridge Light and Both Fridge & Freezer Warming Up

I would say to contact Servall, a component source for all appliance repairs. They have a Web site and are helpful. You should also try the Web for any repair Manuals for your unit.

There are timers for the Defrost cycle. I am familiar with the old mechanical type, the blinking of the computer type is often in a Code which diagnoses the problem. You need the Manual to translate what the blinks mean.

This is going to be a problem with either the thermostat control or the compressor relay from the freezer to frigde, either way, you will need to call a service tech.

Samsung fridge RS2545SH every 7 days freezes fridge coil.

Hey how yo doing? on most refriderator there are two important parts to keeping freezer from freezing over, they are the bimetal thermostat and ice pipe heater. The bimetal therostat is a preset thermostat that ranges from 54degrees farenheit to about 60, when the coils (inside the freezer compartment behind the back panel) reach the preset temp. it closes a circuit and send electricity to the ice pipe heater, to warm the freezer coils preventing from freezing over. if any one of those components fail, your freezer will continue to freeze solid until there is no more space for ice to build on coils decreasing air flow from the evaporator fan blowing air into your fridge. To test you will minor knowledge on using a multimeter.(REMEBER TO UNPLUG REFRIDGERATOR BEFORE SERVICING, IF YOU UNCOMFORTABLE WORKING ON APPLIANCE PLEASE CONTACT A PROFFESIONAL REPAIR SERVICE..) If you'd like to continue please respond.
GOOD LUCK, WORK SAFELY..

Samasung RS2577Sl

It might be that your fridge went into something called 'demo mode' that shuts the compressor down so as not to waste electricity on the showroom floor. The freezer and fridge sides both start to warm up, but the temperatures shown on the outside of the door never change, so you don't know you have a problem until you open the fridge or freezer and find you have a melted mess. My Samsung is 7 years old and we run into this problem frequently when our power is on and off, like just recently with hurricane Ike. Per the Samsung website, the cure for 'demo mode' is to unplug the fridge for 1 minute then plug it back in. They also suggested pressing Power Freeze and Freezer Temp together for 8 seconds until you hear a chime to cancel demo mode. Good luck. I really dislike this machine.

Frig not cooling

I had a same problem as what you described. I purchased mu Samsung RS2545SH side-by-side refridgerator from Costco 2 years ago. I contacted Sumsung, who then sent out a local/independently operated repair shop to come and perform the repair. After three trips by the repair shop and more than $400 in repair cost, the same problem persisted, and I'm stuck with a non-functional fridge for more than 2 weeks. Repeated calls to Samsung service line simply added more aggrevation and no results. The repair shop declared the fridge non-repairable, and my attempts to ask Samsung for a refund only get me a standard response: The executive review committee is reviewing your case!

Finally I simply had it, and hauled the fridge back to Costco, and thank goodness, the folks there were so kind and took back the broken fridge after 2 yrs from the purchase date. Thank you, Costco!

I do not recommend anyone to purchase a Samsung refridgerator. They may look nice on the outside, and maybe even a bit cheaper price. But you may very well be stuck with a non-working fridge in a year or two, and a warranty bureaucracy that will bog you down. And Samsung did not seem to care about standing behind their broken product. This will be the last Samsung product I will ever purchase.
