My dvd writer can read cd ,but cannot read dvd. I need your help to fix my problem. thank you very much.

1. If still in warranty, return for another
2. Clean read lens (purchase cd lens cleaner)
3. Purchase new drive (preferably a different bland)

I would say you need a new CD/DVD. This one appears to have given up. hi, the problem is dvd lazer lens is out .which dvd disk cant be read useally break on multi systems. might need replace thanks

if you have cd writer and dvd rom then change your cd drive with cd/dvd writer because in the case of cd writer and dvd rom it gives error but sometimes the dvd play also but computer freeze from sometime and when we copy data then give us error messages i give you suggest to buy new cd/dvd writer

generally d cd,dvd writer or cd,dvd player of SONY creates dis problem it is unable to read local disks due to high sensitivity of dere lenses...
i hv seen in many cd,dvd writers havin dis type of problems...
it can not made....
but i would prefer u to use LG cd,dvd writer which is capable of readin all local or orignal disks..

Read your DVD writer instructions. Likely all you need to do is choose the format of the DVD which you'd like. The instructions are likely in your computer--otherwise, either use the Help on your burning software to find what to do, or go to it's website to find the manual.
