Second computer is not connecting to wireless

I have a wireless network with 5 computers attached. Only my main computer is connecting to the internet. I have a belkin wireless adapter and the signal strength is good but no connection to the internet. It seems the wireless adapter cannot obtain an IP address from the router.

The computers aren't receiving internal IP addresses that's why they don't have a connection to the router.
Login to your router's admin console, in the configurations be sure you have DHCP ( Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) enabled.

How to make mp760 wifi

This printer has only an USB connection that connects to your computer and cannot connect to wireless network directly. You can attach this printer to a wireless printer server/router to enable wireless printing.
OR
SET UP A SHARED NETWORK PRINTER
Any printer that is connected to a computer and is connected on a LAN can be configured so all other computers on the same network can print to this printer. This means the computer with the printer attached to it MUST be booted up at all times when other computers want to access the printer. You need to install the printer driver on the computer and configure it as a Shared printer. The other computers on the network need to add this printer to their computer. Follow these steps to set-up a shared network printer :- 1. Connect the printer to the computer and install the printer driver. 2. Open Printers and Faxes - right click on this printer and click Sharing - click Sharing tab and click Share this printer, and then if you wish you could change the Share name, then click OK 3. Right click on the printer - click Properties - click Print Test Page to confirm printer installation. Follow these steps to configure the computers on your network :- 1. Open Printers and Faxes - click Add a printer - Next - select a network printer, or a printer attached to another computer - Next. 2. Select Browser for a printer - Next 3. Click on and expand the Microsoft Windows Network down to the computer with the printer - Next 4. Select Yes for - Use this printer as the default printer - Next - Finish 5. Right click on the printer - click Properties - click Print Test Page to confirm printer installation.

My main computer is an old one. I just bought a new one and I would like for it to go wireless. I asked the sales person at the store if I need a router and they told me no because it comes with the new...

I suspect that you and the sales person were talking about different things. . Your new computer probably came with a wireless MODEM, which must have a corresponding wireless ROUTER attached to your network. If you don't have a wireless router attached to your home network, you won't be able to connect wirelessly. . Post back if you need further information or if I've missed the question somehow.

Forgot the Network Key

Ok, if her main computer is connected wireless, and still works, you may not have to reset the router at all.

Go here: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireless_key.html

download it, and run it on her main computer. It basically finds the key that windows has already saved, and allows you to view it.

Let me know if you have any other issue. :)

No internet connection

You could try one of a few things.

1, get a wireless card if it does not have one already,
2. get regular internet from an ISP
3. Reset the network connections and make sure all cables are connected properly,
4. Set up a home network and use a second computer that has a reliable internet connection
5. move the tower around to see if it can catch a wireless signal,
6 (and last that i can pull from my head) Is to get a wireless signal expander to lengthen the range of current wireless around your house.

Wpa Encryption

Im assuming that your main computer is a wired computer or connected to the network via an ethernet cable, there is no way to check it because the WPA Encryption is for the wireless only. If you enable WPA encryption on your wireless network, all of the wireless computer should connect first and used the WPA key you set on your network. Once the profile of your network is saved on your computers, they will just automatically connect everytime they are detecting your network.
