Dishwasher Worked Fine For Many Months. Really Quiet. Started Making Loud High Pitched Noise When Running. It Still Runs Good And Cleans. But, The Noise Is Very Noticable.

Same, loud high-pitched whining during wash cycle. 2 yr old Whirlpool.

I have a Kenmore Hydrawash Model C97875401 doing exactly the same thing. It operates fine and cleans the dishes well, but has a very load, high pitched squeeling noise that changes to a loud crunching noise at different times throughout each wash.

    Yes, we have the same problem. has gotten so loud we don't want to run it at night. Still cleans the dishes just fine, but no point in owning a "quiet washer" if it is not quiet. I'll try the WD 40, but am not looking forward to pulling the whole thing out and turning it upside down.

How deep do you want to get into this?It sounds like the wash pump motor bearings that are worn.You can pull the unit out flip it over and wd40 the bearings in the motor or you can replace the bearings.Try to lube them first.

try washing on hottest cycle it may be the seal in the spray pump somethimes the rinse aid can put a glaze on the seal if that doesnt work you can replace just the front part of the motor( in australia) dont know where you are.

Dishwasher Making Loud High Pitched Noise.
A loud high pitch whine while running the dishwasher means that there is something caught in the chopper assembly. To get to the chopper assembly you need to take the racks out and take the pump apart from the inside of the dishwasher. The chopper assembly looks like a metal grate with holes in it. And it might not even be stuck in the grate but somewhere in the pump area due to the water being pumped out, so the best idea is to take the whole thing apart and clean everywhere. However I do not recommend doing this unless you are completely certain you will remember where the screws and gaskets go, otherwise you risk damaging your pump or house from a leak or improper installation. You have been warned.
