Pending faxes are faxes whose transmission has been delayed either deliberately or unintentionally. Normally, when a fax cannot be sent at the first attempt, the fax machine will redial the recipient's number. If you choose to delay sending a fax, the machine will send it at the time you select for transmission. During the delay period and at any point up to completion of the call, you can cancel the delayed transmission by deleting the fax from the Pending Faxes queue. To do this:
Press the Fax button on the operator panel and then press Options (once only). The Pending Faxes menu will be displayed.
Press Select. If a fax is pending, the printer will display Cancel Fax (the fax number you dialed appears below these words).
Press Select to delete the pending fax.
In response to the Are you sure? prompt, press 1 for Yes ( 2=No).
Press Options (once only). The Pending Faxes menu will now display None.

Whenever I send faxes, the Lexmark X4270 will not send the fax to the other party. It shows that they are "connecting" but it does not "send" the fax. The party on the other end says that it shows the faxes are being "cancelled". I have tried different phone lines and have tried powering down everything and re-booting it with no avail.
An agency we deal with bought a second-hand fax and we need to receive faxes from the agency. Staff from our office have attended their agency and have tried to fax papers through to us - an error report prints with "Pages - 0. Line error". The machine is hooked up to a standard phone line.
