1 of 2 things.

1, The memory is not compatible.

or 2, the new memory is not the same as the existing memory. Most mother boards can take a few different types or speed memory. So the speed of the memory in the pc is different then whats in it.

it all has to match.

It's a lost cause. The A540 works with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed for them. You need to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Memory card error

Make sure you're using SD cards. If the cards are larger than 2GB then they're actually SDHC cards. While they fit in the slot they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

The message says memory card error....it is a new memory card

Try formatting the card- in most cameras there's a menu option under tools or system or something.
If the camera still can't use the card, try the card in something else (like a computer memory card reader or an mp3 player with a memory card slot). If it always has errors it's probably defective

Lost driver & installer

hello

due to the fact that this memory card is no longer available, Kingston does not have drivers fo this card . As a matter of fact SD cards normally do come with drivers , as they are conformed in a way that operating systems recognise them once you plug them into the SD slot

i hope this inofrmation helps you make a decsion

some background on this particular SD memory card you have

SDCZ2-512-A10-KT (Discontinued) Description: 512MB USB 2.0 DataTraveler I write up to 3MBps Discontinued Additional Info: DataTraveler I USB 2.0 Flash Drive Write up to 1.5MBps Read up to 6MBps Mfgr's System P/N's: SDCZ2-512-A10 (Kingston) Form Factor: USB Flash Memory Warranty: 5 Yrs†

here are some solutions .

When the problem occurs is a clue as to the cause.

For example, your response to a memory error message depends on whether:
  1. You have just bought a new computer.
  2. You have just installed new memory.
  3. You have just installed new software or a new operating system.
  4. You have just installed or removed hardware.
  5. Your computer has been running fine and you've made no other recent changes.
UNEXPECTED PROBLEMS

If your system has been running fine, but suddenly starts to produce memory errors, and crash or lock up frequently, the chance of a hardware failure is more likely, since configuration and installation problems show up as soon as the computer turns on. Sometimes you can get memory problems if your computer is overheating, if you are having a problem with your power supply, or if corrosion has developed between the memory module and the socket, weakening the connection.

HANDLING SPECIFIC PROBLEMS

Here is a list of the most common ways the computer informs you of a memory problem.

  1. The computer won't boot, merely beeps.

  2. Computer boots but doesn't recognize all the installed memory.

  3. The computer boots but the screen is blank.

  4. The computer reports a memory error.
    1. Memory mismatch error
    2. Memory parity interrupt at xxxxx
    3. Memory address error at xxxxx
    4. Memory failure at xxxxx, read xxxxx, expecting xxxxx
    5. Memory verify error at xxxxx

  5. The computer has other problems caused by memory.
    1. The computer intermittently reports errors, crashes frequently, or spontaneously reboots.
    2. Registry Errors
    3. General-protection faults, page faults, and exception errors

49.4co2 service error will not clear

Error 49.xxxx - this type of error can be caused by invalid print comands, corrupt data or invalid operation...try this steps to resolve... :
1 Turn the MFP off, and then turn the
MFP on.
2 Upgrade the firmware.
3 Try printing a job from a different
software program. If the job prints, go
back to the first program and try
printing a different file. If the message
appears only with a certain software
program or print job, contact the
software vendor for assistance.
4 If the message persists when using
different software programs and
attempting specific print jobs,
disconnect all of the cables that
connect the MFP to the network or a
computer.
5 Turn the MFP off.
6 Remove all DIMMs and flash-memory
cards. Do not remove the firmware
memory card that is in slot 1.
7 Remove all of the EIO devices.
8 Turn the MFP on.
9 If the error message disappears,
reinstall each DIMM, flash-memory
card, and EIO device individually,
making sure to turn the MFP power off
and then on again as you install each
device.
10 Replace the component that caused
the error message.
11 If the error persists, replace the
formatter

Toshiba satellite pro4200

It's either the memory on the 2nd slot is faulty or loose, try to reseat the memory and check if you will get the same error message if it does then try to remove the said memory on your laptop and check if the error will message will disappear then you can already tell that the memory card on bay 2 or slot b needs replacement.

Hello

OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.

6c99e31.jpg

If the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to try the card in another camera.

If the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader in your camera.

If you open you sd slot and look inside with a sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work as follows:

1. When no card is inserted / no write protection , the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the card is lock.

Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card normally.

It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to bend it.

If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.
