Samsung front load washer, jerks and makes noise when it first starts spinningthen it smooths out, and works fine.

on many machines that is normal, the shaking continues until the load is distributed relative evenly around the spinning drum. It is also possible it is the main bearing but I am not sure. The noise I am talking about would have been there since new. These links may help. Washer has noise during spin cycle Whirlpool Maytag Sears GHW9100LW1 Washer is Making Loud Noise

Drum knock when spin cycle

Hello.
Noises are common when using a two-in-one washer and dryer, as clicking or whirring is part of the cleaning process during the transition to the next cleaning process. The GE Spacesaver washer and dryer combo uses a top-loading washer stacked beneath the front-loading dryer, and uses an agitator that makes noises throughout the spin cycle. Although whirring or clicking is normal, other noises or malfunction indicates a problem with the washer that requires minor troubleshooting. Professional repair is necessary if the washer continues to experience problems during the spin cycle, as there may be a problem with the washer's agitator.
1 Open the washer's door and check the balance of the load's clothes. Clothes that are unevenly distributed around the agitator cause excessive shaking and result in an imbalance during the spin cycle. Reduce the load's size by removing clothing if the washer's drum is overloaded.
2 Push "Start/Pause" to pause the spin cycle and turn the washer's cycle knob to the "Off" position. Turn the knob to "Spin Only" and press "Start/Pause" to reset the cycle.
3 Turn the wrench counterclockwise or clockwise around the unit's legs to adjust the appliance's balance. The legs are adjustable with the help of a wrench to ensure the unit does not shake while in use. An unleveled unit shakes as it spins, and causes excessive squealing or rattling as it attempts to dry the clothes.
4 Touch "Start/Pause" on the front of the washer's control panel and unplug the washer/dryer unit's power cord from the electric oultlet. Wait two minutes and plug the power cord back into the electric outlet. Push "Start/Pause" to resume the spin cycle.
Thanks.

During the spin cycles, the machine makes noise, almost like an airplane ready for take off. It also shakes and "walks". As the spinning increases, the noise and shaking increases. The shaking...

Not an expert but had identical symptoms. Problem was the loosening of the nut 27mm on the main pully. Simply remove lower back panel (16- torx 20 screws ) and tighten same.

If this does not hold over time, the pully hub has been damaged, and a shim, ( shopmade washer ) may solve problem. Remove belt, and pully, look for damage, and install thin shim, so that the nut will not bottem out on bolt before tightening on the pully hub. Good Luck, Lee

Washer was making a very loud shaking sound in the spin cycle, the noise stopped the spinning stopped and I smelled burning.washer will not spin

I had a shakey washer that I bought open box from "circuit city", it was a return.

I was to lazy to learn why the washer would shake and a technician told me to manually balance the wash load in the drum.

Later, I got into the washer and lubed up the rotating shafts and rockers. The washer lost all its shakes with the mechanics properly lubed. From the factory the mechanics were never properly lubed.

Tight mechanics that are supposed balance the spin cycle by moving could be part of what is getting warm. The belt spinning the washer also takes a beating when the drum shakes.

Get a good discount on your washer first, and then lube the mechanics. Everything about the washer is meant to work. If the mechanics are too tight you'll have shaking.

Making an awful ratcheting noise during aggitation and spin cycles

Under the agitator there is a rachet mechanism that works the agitator. If it is stripped, it will skip until the next good tooth.. when it fails entirely the agitater will stop going back and forth. Its nylon and age along with overloading hastens its dearg.. If you can get the parts you can replace it yourself without difficulty. There is a single bolt in the center of the agitator top . Remove and loft agiyator straight up.

Rattling noise during spin cycle

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
