Semi colon is usually on the right side of L key.
May not be at the same position on all keyboards.
semi colon looks like this : (two dots)
colon looks like this ; (a dot above a coma)
To type a semi colon, you have to hold down the Shift key while you press the semi-colon key.
Good luck

Asus keys problem

Move your hands in a swiping motion from left to right all around the keyboard, especially where the semi-colon key is. You want to make sure that no keys are sticking.

If it keeps happening then that means the keyboard is faulty and would need to be replaced.

For some reason, I can no longer type a colon. I can type a semi colon ;, but shifting does not give me a colon. Can you help?

Has it always been like this? or you noticed it recently? The thing is, sometimes the characters on the keyboard are not where they're mentioned. So check all the other keys while holding down the 'Shift'. I am sure you will find your 'colon' under a bracket or a number.

Cant find the colon on a IBM thinkpad

filmmakernz -

There should be a colon on any standard keyboard, to the right of the "L" key.

If you still can't find it, hold down the ALT key, then type "0", "5", "8", then release the ALT key. This should put a colon wherever you are, even in a DOS command line.

Allocation of fingers on keys

HOME KEYS: Left index finger goes on the "F" (you should feel a small bump on the key), left middle finger --> "D", left third finger --> "S", and left pinkie finger --> "A". Right index finger --> "J" (feel bump), right middle finger --> "K", right third finger --> "L", and right pinkie finger --> ";" (semi-colon/colon key). Both thumbs rest on the space bar While the fingers basically stay on those keys, you stretch up & down for the keys closest to the "home keys" (example: use pinkie for "enter" key on the right; use left index finger for "R" and "T). It takes a little while to get used to this but it's the proper way to type, and it is efficient so once you get used to it, you'll be typing like a pro!!

Powers up but does not START cooking = Displays colon after you press START

I would check your onwer's manual for any other specific reset instructions. Generally it reset by unplugging it from the wall for a few minutes. Does the microwave require you to set the time and date before it will work? Are all the keys on the keypad working or do they seem to? If not, you may have a bad, damp, or corroded keypad or control circuit board. I can follow up more on these if it seems like your problem. Please met me know what you find.
