GE Spectra electric oven. Oven won't work after using self clean feature.

I just used the self clean feature on my GE Spectra electric oven. Now when I try to turn the oven on the 'clean' light flashes and the oven on light does not come on. If I turn the dial to Clean, the oven on light comes on and the clean light comes on. I have had this oven for several years but this is the first time I have used the self clean.

ok You will have to check the wiring connection to the clock and see if there is a loose wire in the clean circuit.

Why does it say "Clean Door" during the self-cleaning procedure?

Never ever use the Self Clean feature. All it exists to do is to keep the makers in a steady stream of sales of spares. The temperature is 800 to 925'F. The parts can't handle it.

Try turning off at the breaker overnight to reset.

RBS305 replaced thermal cutoff twice and again it won't come on bake or broil

Good Evening!
The self clean feature is causing your thermal fuses to fail or open. This is a safety mechanism that when open (bad) won't allow electricity to pass through any longer. The temperature in your oven exceeds what the components in your appliance can handle. If you want your oven to last it's longest, I would discontinue using that feature. If ever the control board or keypad on your oven by way of the self clean feature, we can help you with that. Fixyourboard.com can help. Send all inquiries to [email protected] . Thank you!

Self cleaning oven help

There is nothing wrong with cleaning a self-cleaning oven. Now, I don't have experience with your speicific oven, but I do have experience with other self-cleaning ovens. The self-clean function simply heats the oven up really hot. The actual temperature varies but the oven will get hotter than the hottest temperature setting. What happens is that when it get that hot it actually burns up spilled food and crumbs. sometimes in mine I even see small flames. The oven usually requires you to lock it as well since the temperature will be so high. Eventually you have to clean out the burnt "ashes" which are basically the stuff you get on food if you burn it. So the answer to what happens if you clean the oven is that you get a clean oven, nothing else. It won't hurt the oven at all. As a matter of fact even if you use the self-cleaning feature you will eventually have to clean out the "burnt crumbs" and such by hand anyway. So self-cleaning oven are designed to be cleaned by hand as well. And you won't hurt it by doing so even if you did it every day.
