My lg lcd 37 inch randomly lost sound when switching from one channel to the next the other day, ive shut it off n turned it back on, and tried the menu and settings for sound but nothing seems to work so i have no sound! any ideas?
LG 42 in LCD loses (not looses) audio, seemingly randomly. The immediate fix is to turn off the set then back on. Sometimes this'll clear it for one or two seconds, sometimes for the rest of the night. It occurs using the Direct TV feed or from my cheap DVD player. I've had the set about five months now from Sears. Have not reported to Sears, but know i have to in order to keep my warrantee up. Any suggestions (loose audio card connector?) Seems like the software in the unit loses synch and once that happens it won't come back until you do the "off/on" reboot. That may or may not be successful.
I have the same problem and find that if i freeze then unfreeze the screen it works
My vizio tv was turning off every 30 minutes a Vizio represent fixed my issue by guiding me through setting the tv back to the factory settings. Unplugging it and holding the off/on button didnt work.
its been 3 hours my tv hasn't turned off.

I just brought the 42" LG HDTV. When i switch the channels, sometimes it will loose audio. The only way to have the audio back on is to turn the TV off and turn it back on again. I was wondering if this is normal? is there any way to fix it? should i bring it back to the store? pls help
I have the same problem with my 42 inch LCD LG. Sometimes between changing channels or inputs the auido just goes off. It usually resets itself if I turn the TV off but this is annoying. Is this a recurring problem?
have my second LG HD TV and the second one has the same problem. I think I should return this since the first LG TV didn't have this problem at all..By the way, does any of you know how to freeze the screen? (just as described in the solution below)
I'm having the same audio problem with my LG LCD 47inch TV, but only when using the HDMI port to connect either a DVD or HDTV VIP722 DVR from Dishnetwork. At first I taught it was just my DVD player, since it was the only unit using the HDMI port and thus having the sound problem. Since I did not have HDTV yet and did not have to use the HDMI port, and I bought the DVD recorder on clearance, I taught the DVD player was the problem not the TV. Being that I don't watch may DVD's on this TV, I never "sweat'd" it. Either I flick back to the DVD's menu or other chapters and sometimes the sound come's. Or, I just turn the TV off and back on again and this always seems to resolve the problem. Now that I HDTV and use the HDMI port, the sound goes out from time to time when changing channels. Sometimes continuing to flick the channels back and forth tends to resolve the problem, but most of the time I have to turn the TV off then on again to get the sound back. This is becoming frustrating, especially when thinking about the fact that I paid over to $2000.00 for this beast. Is it the HDMI cable or a problem with the TV. Thank God I got an extended warranty! Please help.
