I have a older proscan rear projection.. 60" .. the other day it worked fine and went to turn it on and it sounds like it turns on but does not it clicks but will not turn on . but was fine the day before

Volume will not come up--i have set the volume limiter all the way up,but it is still low. is there a setting in the back where i can set it up?

Check that sound is not "Muted";
Check that speakers are not turned off;

For starters, remove the back cover and turn on the TV. You should see 8 green LEDs on the circuit board.

You may have lost power for the audio amplifiers.

Your projection tubes are messed up. It's a very expensive fix, just get a working TV off craigslist with a smashed screen and reuse your screen itself (usually 100-200$) or just toss the TV and upgrade to an LCD

Proscan not turning on

Actually, the set has the PTK188AC chassis. This is a very uncommon chassis. The most common reason for the set not starting in that chassis is a shorted high voltage splitter. That is the large black box inside the set that has 5 thick red wires in it. When the set is turned on, the computer senses the short in the high voltage circuits and immediately shuts the set back off. When the set is on, that box has dangerously high voltage in it so it should only be replaced by a qualified tech familiar with the high voltage splitters in RCA projection sets.
