Samsung LCD TV ''Weak or No Signal''

I have a 32 inch Samsung LCD TV. It has worked fine hooked up to a digital cable box for over a year. Suddenly today the screen went black and there is a message box saying ''Weak or No Signal''. All other TV's in the house working fine, so I don't think it is a Cable issue. I tried pressing the Source button on the remote, and I get a message saying ''No Device Attached''. Hopefully this TV isn't toast after a little more than a year!

Thanks.I have tried switching out the cable box, the problem is definitely the TV. Is the main board going out a common problem with LCD TV's? I bought this one 2 years ago because the board went out in a 2 year old Westinghouse LCD. The repair guy at that time said it would cost as much to replace the board as to just buy a new TV. I can't believe this has happened again!

I inherited a Sharp LCD 32" flat screen TV that's only about 2.5 years old. It worked fine at its previous location. Upon bringing it to my house, I've tried disconnecting the cable from my TV &...

Try going into your setup menu. Look for a setting for "Cable/Air". Try switching it to Cable and then doing a channel search. If you are using a cable box try setting channel to 3 on tv. Those are the two easiest things I can think of off the top of my head without seeing it.

Ghosting problems with a Samsung-LN32B360

I think your cable box is old version together with weak signal caused this problem. I guess you are using coaxial cable hooked up to the TV at TV cable input jack.
At the TV there are some better quality inputs which are real digital transmission (audio and video) HDMI and components (digital video and analog audio).
The most simple and best quality is HDMI provided the box has HDMI output.
Secondly is component inputs. There are 5 cable trends in which 3 of them (red, blue, green) for video and the rest 2 are for audio (red , white). The cable box should have same color accordingly as ouput. Please note that the color must be matched otherwise you will see the screen has one color only.
Playing a DVD player to see picture good or not. If picture is good, TV has no problem at all.

Weak or no signal message

  1. Since my problem (Samsung/Comcast) began with a channel selection button pushed on the TV remote when it should have been pushed on the cable remote, I figured the problem lay with the TV.  Although I was getting the "weak or no signal" msg., the actual signal strength bar graphic showed it to be strong. Disconnecting did no good. I surmised that the TV was simply not recognizing the box.
  2. I looked at the manual for my Samsung 750 model.
  3. Page 20 discussed "Selecting the source". I accessed the TV menu and selected "Input", then chose the "HD..." item from the highlighted list. Voila! My tv works again.
