Canister starts, but vacuum does not start

Electrolux Gaurdian, cannot get power to the vacuum itself; cannister is fine and whirring away. Have tried to reset, clear suction, and made sure wheel can spin. Any thoughts?

My Electrolux canister vac has no suction

You have a blockage somewhere in the unit from pickup to end of line where dirt is stored, only a blockage will cause this.

Electrolux vacuum cannister bag is not full, but vacuum will not stay on.

How long does it run when you plug it in....or does the on and off switch not work?

The powerhead brush died. The vacuum works just fine, but the brush doesn't.

there could be 2 reasons for this problem.

one) the powerhead is dead legit as in there is no power coming to it or the motor is actually dead.

2) something jammed in the brush and popped the reset button. The reset button is a red button located as your looking at the back of the powerhead on the right side. Usually a red square. Push it and it SHOULD start up again.

That being said, if you have done the reset button and it still does not work, that unit I beleive has either a 2 or 5 year warranty (cannot remember dont have the documentation in front of me) and if it is still covered under warranty for you, take it to your closest Vacuum repair shop. Do take the hose and powerhead with the cannister unit.

good luck

What size/model bags do I need for my Electrolux Epic 6500 SR vacuum?

You need an Electrolux Cannister bag to fit pre 2001 Series cannisters. You can fin them at a VAC Service center or thru AERUS Electrolux. Buy only a 4 ply bag, nothing thinner.

Have the cannister 6500 SP just changed all filters but when I start the vaccum it shuts itself back off and the full bag indicator light comes on?

It sounds like the valve assembly (full bag control) is faulty. Threr are two O rings inside of it and the plactic holding the bottom one has broken. You'll have to take it to the shop.

OPENING CANISTER ON LUX5000

DONT KNOW WHAT THE 5000 CANNISTER LOOKS LIKE BUT MY 2100 IS A PULL BEHIND CANNISTER AND IT WAS SNEAKY. THE LONG PLASTIC STRIPS DOWN THE SIDES HAS A TRACK IN IT. YOU MUST OPEN THE DOOR AND PULL THE STRIP OFF THE TRACK LONG WAYS AND THE TOP HALF WILL SEPERATE FROM THE BOTTOM HALF. BEWARE THE WIRING INSIDE IS JUST LONG ENOUGH AND CAN DISCONNECT EASY. I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS THE SAME BUT NOONE ELSE WAS VOLUNTEERING ANY INFO AT ALL.
