Hello,

First try resetting the Sansa View:
1. holding the power switch up for 15-20 seconds
2. next release it
3. switch the power switch up to get the player on; should function normally again.

Only go through next steps when this did not solve the problem:
Step 1: putting the player in MSC mode and
Step 2: performing a firmware update should be done.
Backup all your media / data from the player to the computer
before doing the firmware update action.

  • Step1: How to put the player in MSC mode ?
1. perform point 1. and 2. of the reset action to switch the player off
2. slide the power switch to the HOLD position, so the orange portion
shows.
3. on the computer double click My Computer
4. on the View player press and hold the HOME button while connecting it to the computer.
5. release the HOME button when a drive partition of 16 MB shows up
under My Computer
  • Step 2: How to perform a firmware update ?
On a Windows operating system
Be sure being logged in on the computer, having adminstrar's rights and
download the Sansa Firmware Updater and run this execute file. Running the Sansa updater should come up with the available software / driver for the View player.

On a MAC or Linux operating system ?
Go to the Sansa View forums board and follow up the instructions for
having a download of the Sansa View firmware manually.

Blue screen error tried to start in safe mode now wont come on

This is most likely the power supply. It could be some other things but the power supply is the cheapest thing to try unless you have the right stuff to test everything. In reality, it was nothing that you did. The uninstall of the program did not cause this. Also you should check the unit to be sure that it is clean. Dust can build up inside and cause over heating.

Flexion1. Hi Mark. Still my problem with the Department assigned in place of flat PLU buttons are not resolved (Dept 1 assigned to flat PLU 007 & 014 .......upto Dept 10 assigned to flat PLU 62 &...

48 is the code for the PLU button, not a flat PLU. they are different.
To set a flat PLU, Turn key to program 4 subtotal Type the PLU number to be assigned using the numeric keys Type 063 Press the flat PLU location to save the PLU number there Press SUBTOTAL
If you get an error when you press the location, then you already have an amount in the totaliser (end of day report) for that location and you will need to do a PLU report and possibly a department report in both Z1 and Z2 modes to clear the totals of that function before you can allocate it. Let me know if you get an error and I'll help you through. Good to see that you have almost removed all of the old programming

Wont turn on

This looks like a component failure problem. The failure has caused damage to Clocks control and display circuits. These type of problems are not user repairable. The Emerson customer support telephone number is 1-800-909-1240 you can call them between the hours of 8am-4:30pm CT. Give them the make and model number of the Clock/Radio. Tell them the problem you are having with the clock and the clocks display. They should be able to help you get the Clock/Radio repaired. I hope this information help you with your problem. Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day.
