Stuck on black and white

You can select the color mode to Black and white to shoot images in black and white. If you have already captured the images in color, you can use a software in computer to change the color mode to black and white.

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. Yes,the problem is the colors wheel it dead.That one of the cause by the colors wheel,other are alots of squiling noises and making very loud buzzing sound.The cooling fan that u think is overheating,does it stop sometimes,when the tv is still on?Yes,than replaced it also,no than it still ok.Just hire the tv repairman,the parts he'll take care of it,don't order the parts,u might get the wrong parts or different sizes,that will not fit in ur tv.

I want you to do a simple visual check of something that will tell me what the problem may be.

Go to a channel that is in black and white--old movie and tell me what color the screen/picture is.

You can also turn the COLOR in the customer menu all the way off and look that way.

What we are trying to see here is if TRACKING is set correctly or has changed. If the screen is somewhat to medium reddish it may be an adjustment outside of the customer menu.

Let me know what you find--I have seen several of these where the black and white picture was somewhat red--the idea is it should be as close to black and white as possible--if red is the predominant background color the picture will look reddish.

you have the cables hooked up the wrong way

Turn the color level all the way down and see if you have a good black and white picture. If your screen isnt black and white it should have a predominate tint to it. then turn the screen control for that color down to achieve the best black and white picture. then adjust your color level that should help.

If the trouble is black and white looseboard in CRYSTAL. Loose need to resolder.

Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.

The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.

My experience is that in geneeral terms white balance of the C765 is almost perfect. The earlier C740 did have a purple color in the white areas. The pictures need most a light push on trigger to first set up all correct. If you do so it should be nice colored. Olympus own xD card is required to make panorama pictures. Several pictures can then be set together within the PC software Cameras
