No water entering dishwasher

My dishwasher will run through a wash cycle and make all the right noises. However there is no water entering into the machine. Tested and replaced the water inlet /solenoid. Hoped it was fixed but unfortunately nothing has changed. Has anybody got any ideas as to what should be my next step?

My IKEA Renlig DWT160 dishwasher will not run through a cycle.

Hi,

Please double check that you've properly closed the dishwasher doors before you attempt a cycle. The ikea might be emptying an water coming in because it thinks the door is open.

Also, please attempt to use a different cycle than the one that you're currently using to see if you'll get different results.

Thank you.

Drain Pump

If the dishwasher is loud during operation, the drain pump might be defective or might have some debris in it. This is a common problem.

Circulation Pump

If the dishwasher is loud during operation, and the noise is a continuous drone similar in speed to the circulation pump sound, it's likely that the circulation pump motor bearings have failed. Once this happens the circulation pump will have to be replaced, the bearings are not repairable.

Drain Impeller

If the dishwasher is loud during operation, the drain impeller might be broken, or there might be debris in the pump. Generally, to gain access to the pump the top of the pump housing will have to be removed.

Pump and Motor Assembly

If the dishwasher is loud the motor bearings, drain impeller or wash impeller might have worn out. All three of these components are part of the pump and motor assembly. It may be possible to replace one of the impellers, but the motor bearings cannot be repaired. In that case the pump and motor assembly will need to be replaced.

Wash Impeller

The wash impeller is a small, plastic blade. The motor spins the impeller forcing water through the spray arms to clean the dishes. If one or more blades has broken off of the impeller the dishwasher is loud. The impeller can also scrape against the pump housing if it is damaged, warped or bent.

Water Inlet Valve

The water inlet valve is an electrically controlled water valve. When it is new, the water inlet valve is very quiet. Over time, the diaphragm inside the valve deteriorates and deforms. This deformation interacts with the water rushing in and can cause a loud vibration, buzzing, squealing or other noises. If the dishwasher is loud during the filling cycle, replacing the water inlet valve may solve the problem.

We just installed a new kenmore dishwasher yesterday. Model 13242 It has been running for almost2 hours and is still on the washing cycle--no water in it however--is this normal? I'm in a bit of a panic as...

THAT IS NOT NORMAL!!!!!!! A normal wash and dry cycle will take approx. 2 hours in length including drying cycle.
You should see that water has been present in the machine within the first 2 minutes of the start of the wash cycle, you should also be able to hear the water entering the wash tub.
The fill valve or water supply seems to be the issue, if the water doesn't enter the tub then the controller won't proceed witht the wash cycle. Double check your water supply tube / hose to make sure there is water present at the connection to the dishwasher.
GOOD LUCK !

When the dishwasher starts or when water starts to enter dishwasher there is a loud noise.

ther could be something stuck n your drain pump.
the way it works is first the unit drains, the it fills, then it start to wash. now if you hear this noise after it drains then it could be your water valve or after it fills when it starts to wash it could be your circulation pump. it depends on what cycle you hear the noise. let me know if this help by posting 4 thumbs up for this answer, thanks

Water-inlet valve Most cleaning problems are caused by the dishwasher not getting enough wash water, so the water-inlet valve is often to blame. This valve is usually at the bottom left or right of the dishwasher, behind the lower access panel. It's the device with the main water line from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it. When a water-inlet valve is defective, you may hear the sound that's usually referred to as "water hammer." If the water-inlet valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. Be sure to read and understand any instructions that come with the new water inlet valve.

Bosch dishwasher timer freezing

There is a recall on the control board of many of these models, butyour problem is likely not related. It sounds like a plugged drain system or a possible bad drain pump. That's why you are hearing the pump running constantly. I have written a guide to help. It is here. Thanks!

GE washing machine does not run, gives humming noise

A washing machine is a simple product.

When trouble shooting anything you have to know what is supposed to do and what is it not doing.

At the begining of a washing machine cycle the machine fills with water until a switch is made telling the machine it is full and ready to agitate. Since it never fills it will stick in that part of the cycle.

When you start a cycle and no water enters the drum you have one of three problems:

1. The water supply is shut off.
2. The solenoid valve that supplies the water is not opening.
3. No power to the washing machine.

Since you are hearing a hum, the machine seems to be trying to activate that valve,
The humming noise comes from the electromagnetic field that activates the valve,
