Updated to windows 7. labtec web cam not

Hi. Labtec does not exist anymore, as it was bought out by Logitech. So, you're not going to find any updated drivers for Labtec devices because Logitech discontinued all of the products. Unless you have the installation CD that came with the camera and it miraculously works, you may be out of luck. Sorry.


That being said, web cams are pretty cheap these days, so you may want to upgrade anyway.

Please try removing the old web cam driver and installing new Windows 7 Compatible driver.

It should. Most webcams do not require any additional drivers or software. Just plug it in and see if Windows 7 sees it.

It is packaged and softwared for Windows Operating Systems. But it will work on a Mac, it just doens't have any software or drivers that come with it. Use something like Photobooth and it will be under camera in drop down menu

First check the labtec website to see if they have a Windows 7 driver for it.
If not, it might be that Windows 7 supports the webcam directly, but I guess you have tried that.
Last option is to look for a compatible webcam driver for Windows 7 which is not from Labtec. This is possible since Labtec uses third party webcam components. Try using a driver finder application for that.

You need to download this: Driver Update Software and update your drivers. Best of luck... Regards, Micky

Not sure about Windows 7 - you may have to download a previous OS and run the cam in Compatibility Mode

Install the same installation file for your web cam in xp or vista
in windows 7 too...
its a trick
in which we are installing this driver in windows 7
in compatibility mode

compatibility mode allows any file on previous versions of windows to be installed in windows 7
For that
>>right click on the file
select properties
check the compatiblity tab
select windows vista
and dont forget to check"Run as administrator"

and apply

You may have to run it in Compatibility mode if Windows 7 webcam software is not available - I'm sure they can advise you

To navigate to CM on my logitech I rightclick the webcam shortcut icon on the desktop and click 'Properties' and then the 'Compatibility' tab.
