Hi experts, my Acer Aspire 5630 is running very slow, despite removing no longer used programs, only thing i have left is i tunes music, which i moved to an external hard drive. yet its still very slow?
Ok this is what you have to do,,,,rescan your computer for viruses.., download ccleaner, spyboot search and destroy, atf cleaner...restart your computer hit f8 to go to safe mod go to safe mode rerun all this programs in safe mod, clena everything what is bad ( it will be highlated) run disk defragment, restart your computer and let it boot normaly... it should run faster, if you can go to safe mod do all this in normal mode, after all of that got to run and type msconfig it will show you on startup tab what programs are loaded on startupo of win xo uncehc those that you don't want or those that are suspicious to you.... and post me back if you ancourted any problems ....
Try to run a scan for virus and spyware... you could install "malwarebytes" and run a scan for possible malware infection... if there's no malware/ virus found on your system you could try and defrag your drives and checkdisk for errors...
A good way to speed up your computer is to add memory. Your Acer can accept up to 4 GB of memory. I would suggest purchasing 2 - 2 GB memory cards, and follow the instructions to install them in your computer. I would also run a spyware program. Spyware will slow down your computer..... Good Luck

FIXING A SLOW COMPUTER A slow computer could be caused by a number of things - 1.Insufficient RAM (memory) - if your computer has less than 512Mb of RAM then increase it to at least 1Gb of RAM. 2.Registry problems - clean and repair the registry, it will contain unused registry keys. Use programs such as Registry Mechanic, Microsoft RegClean etc. 3.Uninstall/remove unused programs, this will also free up hard disk space. 4.Not enough hard disk space - swap file space may need to be increased if Windows hasn't been configured to manage it. 5.Install latest Windows updates. 6.Update virus definition files and scan computer for viruses, Trojans, malware etc. 7.Clear the Internet cache for faster browsing. 8.Hard disk maintenance is required at least once a month to keep it functioning efficiently. Run the following programs - Disk Cleanup - removes temporary files that are no longer used and to recovers hard disk space. Disk Defragmenter to make fragmented files into contiguous files and therefore the hard disk access is faster.
I encountered the same problem after i updated acer camera derivers from acer website.I found a program called acerorbicam.exe in the startup and disabled it.Things were fine after next restart. In taskmanager kill that process and your camera should work fine till you do a restart.
Have you tried running a virus scan, an adware scan and defragmented your drives? These things should help speed it up. If its still too slow after doing these things, try disabling programs from booting with windows (such as things in the system tray like yahoo messenger, msn, aol, etc)
