I presume you mean that the battery won't seat properly. Sometimes this can be tricky to avoid damaging something in the watch. I use a bi-nocular microscope to really see what is happening. If I were working on it I would double check to see if you really had the right battery. Then I would see if there are screws to be removed that are holding down the battery clamp. Insert the battery and replace the battery clamp. Also make sure that the battery is not installed upside down. I hope this help. Please let me know how you make out.

I cannot get the back of my Bulova watch back on. I popped it off to replace the battery however I cannot get the back back on!

Most Bulova Watches have PRESSURE TIGHT backs. Meaning the back is applied with EQUAL amounts of pressure to the entire back. There are two(2) solutions:

1. Take the Bulova watch to an experienced watch dealer/repaiman, to have the back applied, or

2. CAREFULLY MAKE SURE THE BACK IS IN THE PROPER POSITION, then WRAP THE ENTIRE watch with a soft, cushy clothe and with a pair of pliers, CAREFULLY apply pressure to the center of the back plate, until the back covers seats to the proper depth(closed), at the same time BEING VERY CAREFUL not to crack the watch crystal!!

I have a sportline s7 it the screen froze on timer 1:85. Any help? This happened on July 7th

Mine froze also. I took the backplate off intending to replace the battery. It then unfroze when I took the workings out of the case and handled the metal areas. It looks like the battery is not an easy thing to replace as it is fairly well covered/seated. The manual recommends taking into a shop. Good luck!

CHanging battery on timex expedition, cover says

If you don't have the proper tools I recommend that you not do this yourself. You could scratch the case or damage the movement if you don't know what you're doing. If it's a water resistant watch the gasket also needs to be replaced once it is opened. DO NOT reuse a gasket! For about $8 any watch or jewelry2_bing.gif store can change the battery and renew the gasket for you.

I have a problem whit my Casio W94HF. It just stop working. It show the time but you can't push any button until I reinstall the battery help me please :)

usually when the watch still works but you cannot make or change any settings and you do not see any reaction or change when you push a button, then it means that one of the buttons is stuck (as if permanently pushed) and the watch will not react to any button until the stuck button is released. Inside the watch there are metal fingers (contact blades) that the buttons actually push, and sometimes one of these finger blades can get stuck even though the button has returned outward. try (with tweasers) to pull on each button to see if it will move outward and allow the watch to start functioning again. If not, then the watch must be opened, and with a fine pin-like probe, each metal finger blade must be tested for proper movement and position. Also, when a battery is replaced, occasionally the housing is not seated correctly when the "movement" is replaced in the housing (if it was removed in the first place), when the cover is back in place, if there is a plastic or metal bezel ring, maybe the ring is not seated correctly. goodluck, Macgivor

What is the proper battery placement or orientation for eco-drive

The Citizen Eco Drive watches use special recharchable batteries.
I started collecting a couple of watches and I noticed sometimes a jeweler replaces them with an ordinary battery. The watch will work and at the same time it will try to recharge this one until it explodes! In newer models they made it harder to use the non-rechargable ones by adding a special connector or clip to the rechargable battery types. If you look into the place where the battery goes, you will see a shiny spot where the metal clip needs to touch. If not sure, find the link to tech docs below.
Okay, if you say your battery goes bad, did you store your watch in a drawer as many people do? It may have lost the charge over time. First thing to try is to leave it on the window sill so the dial is in the sun. It will start ticking, but please leave it out there for 3 days to a week. The seconds hand will tick irregularly in steps of one and two seconds, to show you it wants you to readjust the time, as it knows it has lost time. Adjust the time and it should run smoothly.
The seconds hand should run in single second steps, if it takes steps regularly, but every 3 seconds or so, it tries to tell you that its power level is going down. It will be able to continue for one or two days, but you should get it into the sun more often.
Charging the battery under a lamp is possible, however this heats up the watch and this may reduce battery life.
If you need to know more about the Eco Drive, look for detail tech manuals for all types here: http://www.citizenwatch.com/downloads/tech/tech.htm
Those are great watches as long as you remember it needs light to charge.
