Mobile XT not excepting my GPS Receiver

I am not able to get my Garmin Mobile XT software to work with my BT74R GPS receiver

Garmin will work with ANY windows mobile device with built in GPS and or a bluetooth receiver. But you have to have the correct software there are 2 versions both will install but only one will work with your model phone for older model phones use version 4.10 or lower for newer model phones use version 5.0 or higher.

Let windows manage your GPS ports do not try to set it manually. If you have a GPS fix option...go out side where you can get a satellite fix easily...launch your GPS fix program...thenlaunch Garmin. It should connect and you will have to do this only once. I know from experience and I've use this on a T-Mobile Dash with a bluetooh adapter with no issues. I'd try a different receiver preferably any Pharos GPS receiver.

Garmin Mobile XT will not work with a Treo, even though the company I bought mine from said it would. The Garmin package even shows a Treo on it.

Try installing and running the Garmin WebUpdater to load or reload the latest update.
This will usually resolve any issues.

To update your map, go to https://my.garmin.com/maps/chooseDeviceType.htm? Choose your device type. I believe Garmin Mobile XT is under the "Phone Devices".
It will ask you to install the Garmin Communicator Plugin, install it and follow the instructions. You may need to connect your GPS to the computer during this process.
I'm not quite sure if a road map for Philippines is available though.

My Garmin 310 xt always worked prefectly. Suddenly this week it won't acquire satellites.

Try giving your unit a firmware update using Garmins WebUpdater software, it can be obtained from this link http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp. If this dosent work your units GPS receiver is probably dead and should be sent in for repair.

Screen goes blank except for a black line
I had the same problem with my 76S. Called Garmin to send it back for service. They said it was a problem with new WAAS signals that causes the freeze/black line. Disabling WAAS using menu/system solved it for now. They are working on a software update Real Soon Now.
