Press the DVD button on the top of your remote to operate it with the dvd player. You remote is multi purpose on you can use it for controlling Samsung DVD and TV. When you press the DVD button it will change to the DVD remote state. When you press the TV button then it will change as remote for the TV. So if yo want to operate DVD with the remote just press the DVD button and if you want to control the TV then press the TV button.

To program the DVD player's remote control to operate your TV, follow these steps:

1. Turn on the TV, and then aim the DVD player’s remote control at the TV.
2. Press and hold the [TV Power] button on the DVD player's remote control.
3. While holding the [TV Power] button, use the number buttons on the remote to enter the two digit code assigned to your brand of TV.

Note 1: If your DVD player's remote control can be programmed to operate a TV, the TV brand codes will be listed in your owner's manual. If you don't have your owner's manual available, click here to go to the download center and download a copy.
Note 2: Many TV brands have more than one code. If the first code does not work, try the next available code.

1. If the TV turns off, the code worked correctly and your remote control is now programmed. If the TV stays on, repeat steps 1 through 3 with a different code listed for your brand of TV.

Note: If none of the codes listed allows your DVD player's remote to control your TV, then the remote is not compatible with your specific model.

Your Onkyo DR90 DVD Receiver remote control does not have universal remote functions, and cannot be (easily) programmed to control a Panasonic DMR ES15. Your DR90 remote does have a limited learning function, but it is designed to learn the codes from your TV's remote to control the TV. Only the following buttons are programmable by the TV Learning function:

I am having the exact same problem, however I have the official remote that goes with the TV. Have you found a solution to this yet? perhaps its a problem with the TV rather than the remote?

I have this remote for my dvd player as well. The manual for my player is at this site http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DVP-NS710H&region_id=1. However it does not give a code for my tv. I've tried a bunch of codes and none of them work. I've tried codes for other remotes that seem to be all the same for my tv and they don't work. But if you go to the site above and click on "Operating Instructions" the manual will pop up. Go to page 15 and the codes and instructions are there.

I can view channels but cannot view a DVD from the TV/DVD Disney Princess Combo. Only see static on the screen with no sound. I wonder if I need to change the input select to view a movie but cannot find a button on the TV or remote control. I have a 6 button remote which I am sure operates the DVD and another remote with 39 buttons I thought would operate the player as well as the TV. However, so far only the player functions from it. The buttons only have small pictures without words which sometimes leaves some question about purpose. This is a second hand unit. I do not have a manual. It did play movies at first. I think the trouble may have started when I programed cable channels. Any help will be greatly appreciated
