1995 AGS 2140 clutch or transmission problem when changing speeds the tractor stops and appears to be stuck between speeds it won't go forward and it won't go backwards. You can change speeds from slow to fast and fast to slow and still nothing. If you rock the tractor and move the speed control it will finally move again. Fluid level in hydrostatic is full.

New tractor power loss on a grade, deos not develop full speed

Hello Joe

If you have an automatic or hydrostatic transmission then you have a lemon, which means once the oil heats up in your transmission it thins out and clutchs and swash plate have no grip on the drive system which is hydraulic pressure needed to hold on the shaft and axles this happens all inside the transmission you cant see it but you can tell when going up slight hills and when you have the blades engaged it crawls like a turtle get you warranty out Joe..... dont touch anything that may void your warranty..... just call service department they will send service man out to your home even after that keep a good eye on your tractor since its still under waranty for further problems.

Joe your 20 year old craftsman had a better built ****** by sears and you probably had a 6 speed or five speed even hydostatics were good too, they dont have much problems except belt slipping its an easy fix this new tractor u need service man right away.

Started craftsman lawn tractor 24 hp kohler engine drove it a few feet engaged blade clutch and mower stopped. disengaged blade clutch tried to restart . engine turns over starts runs few a few seconds and...

You should be able to push it forwards as well as backwards. I had a similar problem (engine stalling) with mine. I found out if I half choke it, it will stay running. Transmission may still have a problem.

Can will drive in reverse, when put into drive it dies.

if you put it into drive with your foot of the brake will it keep running?

Does it feel like you forgot to push in the clutch if it where a manaul transmission?

Does it try to lunge forward right before it dies?

If the answer is yes to any of these than I am betting that the TCC solenoid is stuck. This is keeping the torque converter in the transmission locked up as a solid link between the engine and transmission. This normal happens at highways speeds.

Lawn tractor forward movement problem

Check the adjustment from the lever to the transaxle, if the linkage is ok the transaxle may be suffering from age and has leaking internal seals.

Craftsman 42 in 19.5 unable to control speed forward motion

is this perhaps a hydro trans? if so, try putting the shift lever in neutral, then let off the brake pedal, use the shift lever to go forward and to neutral to stop - same with reverse, don't even use the brake pedal except for emergency stops. if it's a manual shift, it's possible the belt is incorrect, and/or the belt guides are bent or the belt is improperly routed - the belt guides are important as they allow the belt to "blossom" off the engine pulley, reducing the "shock" load when engaged - hope this helps

John Deere L120 transmission high pitch noise and no forward move

Try jacking the unit up. Start it up and try moving pushing the forward and reverse back and forth and see if it does it then. It sounds like an oil way in the hydrostatic unit has a check valve stuck. Of course make sure that the fluid lever is up. Hope this will help you. donnyb60
