I have Dell Inspiron 8600 which was recently formatted. Now the Function key+F3 key don't bring up the battery meter. Does anyone know what happened to the laptop?

Click here and click the link to download all on the upper right hand side of the page. Instruction are embedded in the page and the download themselves for each individual download, including what they do and so on...... Unzip and installation of all these is highly recommended to restore your system back to factory functionality......i assure you that the battery meter shortcut is not the only function missing from your system.....you just haven't found the rest yet, and may never need them for that matter, but still i do recommend installing all the downloads that are available for your device, and don't worry, if there is anything that needs to be overwritten during installation, let if overwrite...you'll be just fine..... so there ya go, sry i cant walk you through the whole process but there wouldn't be enough room for me to spell it all out on here.

GOOD LUCK AND PLS RATE THIS POST!! :D

What type CMOS battery will fit a 1W766 motherboard

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/ussoho1/Product/inspiron-8600

You have to order the battery from a dell service center.

It look like this:

But here could be a difference depeding how old the laptop is.
Here is the other type:

I cant use f3 key to disable battery charging for dell inspiron m101z.

You have to Press and Hold the FN function key at the lower left portion of the keyboard, then hit the F3 key. Hitting the F3 key alone will do nothing.

What is the shortcut key driver used to disable and enable battery charging?

Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard, then hit the F3 key. Notice that the battery on the F3 key is probably the same color as the FN key, that means in order to get any key that is the color of the FN key to work, you must first Press and Hold the FN key.

F keys do not work f3,f4,f5,f8,f9

You will need to replace the laptop keyboard, go to www.ebay.com Type: make and model of laptop, refine search to keyboard. It would not hurt to use an external keyboard to be sure.

Inspiron 8600 does not charge batteries. Power

hello

As you have mentioned that power supply is working fine then there can be only two things.

  1. Your charging module in the mother board is malfunctioning. And you cannot replace a particular module, you have to replace whole motherboard for it.If your system is under warranty Dell will do it for free.
  2. The connector which connects the battery with the mother board is gone.
hope this will solve your problem

Thank you.
