Can not install a lexmark 5000 to my computer

You can download the printer driver from the Lexmark website. Go to http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&actp=DD_LIST&productCode=5000_COLOR_JETPRINTER&id=DR5588&os=WINDOWS_XP&oslocale=en_US&segment=DOWNLOAD&userlocale=EN_US&locale=en and click download now. Note this version is for windows XP32 bit which appears to be the latest version available.

Make sure the scan software is already installed in the computer. If not installed yet, insert the installation cd in your computer to install the software. Here's the link to download the User's Guide for the Lexmark X5070 printer for instructions on how to scan. For Windows ( http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/5000/v5209661_en.pdf ). Usually you do not need a CD but you do need to have the driver installed. You can download the correct driver at http://www.driverwizard.org/wizard/p/Lexmark/printer?ms.lexmarkbroad.wizard . Let me know if you need more help.

Yes please visit lexmark.com and goto support section and download the up-to-date software for your make and model and just install it. After that and rebooting your pc you should be fine unless your printer itself has an issue.

if you go to www.lexmark.com and look for printer drivers than just look for your model of the printer and download it from there.
also if you are unable to get it there please go to www.radarsync.com and use the free edition this is a free driver update utiity that will let you update and install drivers for the computer and printer and keyboards and mice and various other hardware. ok?

You can try to restart your WIA ( windows image acquisition).
You can open it from control panel/administrative tools/services/ please find windows image acquisition and restart it.

check your cable which connect your printer to your computer.
replug again it.
also check u proper driver installed for printer.
u can download from here

yes it does. and you need the drive from the lexmark site.
go here and type your printer model (5000) select the color printer.
A new page will come up. Select the Windows you have (Windows 98).
Click download. When it finishes, open the file in the Windows 98 computer and install. it will tell you when to plug your printer in the port.
