Delphi myfi xm2go

My delphi myfi xm2go won't turn on. The charger has a little light on so i assume that the charger works, but resetting it and taking the battery out and putting it back in doesn't work, so i have no idea what to do.

My unit will not play or charge anymore. When in the charging adaptor, the screen just flickers without turning on. I have tried taking the battery out and it does nothing.

it is charged but won't turn on

  • Anonymous Mar 04, 2008

As of this week, I too am experienced the identical problem of no screen content and flickering while attempting to charge. Maybe all the units are going out at the same time?

Same problem here, came in to work this morning and the screen was blank. Nothing, won't turn on, removed the battery, hit the reset, still nothing. What's up?

Listen to the radio going to work, get in car to go home... no radio. Fidget and play around in the car, but still won't come on. haven't tried all the remedies yet, but from the description on the website, doesnt look good.

I have this problem when operating under battery power and it runs all the way down. The MyFi unit shuts off and when I put it back in the home dock/cradle, no response (no "battery charging" message, no power on/off). This has happened a couple of times in the past. I tried the little paper clip reset button, battery in and out, so I finally gave up, leaving it in the cradle. Then, miraculously, it comes back to life after several hours to a day or so (I can't remember exactly how long). This was after support at Delphi suggested holding in the reset button for at least 10 seconds. This is the third or fourth time this problem has happened but I was getting a little impatient, so I thought I'd check online for a fix.

I saw somewhere else someone had done a "hard" reset. Is that different from the little paper clip one? I usually don't lose my settings with that one. I would call that a soft reset.

Unit will freakishly work sometimes when it's in the charger. Will not work out of the charger. Bought a new battery, reset, nothing seems to correct this problem.

I can't get my delphi myfi to turn on. Do I need to get a new battery?

  • Anonymous Jan 21, 2009

absolutely no trouble for a couple years. Now no sound, from radio either fom headphones or fm transmitter. tried paper clip reset, battery removal. display good can change channels but no sound. Unit is not in mute either. any suggestions?

Same with my myfi. Does anyone know what Delphi is saying? Are they willing to replace them?

  • pzackowski Mar 27, 2009

Mine does the same thing. Blanks out. Sometimes I can leave it off and it will magically come to life a few days later. Very frustrating. New battery has not helped. Saw the post further down the Delphi is not doing anything to solve it.

I have the same problem. I finally was able to get Delphi Tech Service and found out that these units have a flaw. they have been going out after about 14-18 months and there is no known repair... neither does Delphi offer a repair service for this problem.

Someone said there is a CHARGING pin that is askew - you need to carefully move it over a little bit - so that it makes better contact. I have cleaned the pins, etc. but never adjusted them - anyone else tried that yet??? help!! I can't stand it..makes me crazy going on and OFF!!

After over a month of leaving it in the home docking cradle it finally came back to life!! Just bizarre. I did try holding the reset button in for even longer times (30-60 seconds). Fortunately XM suspended my subscription payments for three months while leaving the radio id active in hopes that the radio would come back on. Payments will resume after the three months.

SOURCE: delphi myfi xm2go

The power adapter is the problem.
I have two of these units.
The one I was using died and will no longer power on.
So, I called xm and switched to my back-up.
That one's dead, too.

I tried two adapters, four batteries and neither radio works.

BUT, I just happened to try a third adapter I had.
After re-setting the device (Take out battery, depress reset button with a pin. It's in the upper left in back. It's a VERY small hole.)

Then, I plugged the cord back in, and the battery is charging.

Apparently, the power adapters have a limited life span.

I'll be picking up a few new ones now.

MYFI XM2GO WILL NOT TURN ON. ALSO WHEN I PUT IN CRADLE WILL NOT SHOW CHARGING

I had the same problem. This procedure from the "Technical Questions" section of http://shopdelphi.com/consumers/support/faqs/myfi/ worked for me:
"My MyFi won't power up, how do I reset it?
To reset your MyFi, start by turning the receiver off and removing it from its (car, home, audio system) cradle. Then remove the back cover and battery. Using a small paperclip, press the reset button located on the top left corner of the battery compartment. Now plug the AC power adapter into a wall outlet and plug the power port directly into the bottom of the MyFi (battery stays removed). Wait 10 seconds and listen for a beep. After you hear the beep the message "insert battery" will appear. Cycle the MyFi to ensure it powers up and powers down. If the power cycle is normal, then turn off the MyFi, unplug the power adapter, and reinstall the battery. Re-plug the AC power adapter directly into the bottom of the MyFi. Wait 10 seconds and listen for a beep. After the beep you will see the message "battery charging". Leave the MyFi plugged in until it's fully charged. You will see the message "charging complete" displayed. After the MyFi is fully charged, turn it on and reset to the factory defaults. Unplug the MyFi from the AC power adapter and using the battery power leave it on until it fully discharges (approximately 2-5 hours). Plug the MyFi in using the AC power adapter to recharge the unit and resume normal use. If you need help at any point during this process contact us at 1-877-463-3574 for technical support."

I hope it works for you too.

My Delphi XM2GO MyFi has stopped transmitting to an FM station on a house radio. Is it repairable? If so, is there a facility in the Cleveland, OH area where I can take it?

IF you take it out of the home dock and run it on batteries, I'll bet you it works again. The newer home docks TURN OFF the FM transmitter. Try a car dock, or try it with just the power plug plugged into the bottom of the MyFi, without the home dock and see if you can now get the FM transmitter to work. Let me know. Thanks and good luck.

No reception

your antenna connection inside the unit is broken on the circuit board,i had one of these and repaired it numerous times by taking the unit apart and resoldering the connection at the board, also their antennas don't last long as far as the antenna plug end is concerned

My delphi xm2go radio unit will not take a charge. Have tryed everthing! It starts to charge then goes dead!

I had the same problem, Based suggestion that the plug in the Radio is worn and not making contact, I used a small screw driver to shift the pin in the charger input hole from the center a little. That did it on both my Myfi;s. The now charge properly, and stay on as long as I need. Which needless to say, brings a smile to my face :) .

Replace the battery. Your Myfi will not work without it -- even if it is plugged into the charger.
