Delphi Roady XT XM Radio Receiver Questions & Answers
I may not be in
Firstly don't ignore the possibility of a fault with your receiver. A sophisticated modern receiver has circuitry to help prevent second-channel interference.
Secondly, has somebody built something nearby that is either masking the wanted signal or reflecting the unwanted signal? Generally unless you are using a suitable external aerial sited above the ridgeline of the surrounding buildings you have little or no right to complain about reception problems but don't let that prevent you from complaining to anyone that will listen.
Next, it is worth checking the frequency - sometimes radio station frequencies move.
If nothing has changed - nobody has built anything, you are confident your radio is ok and the frequency is unchanged, if it is a portable radio then moving it and/or changing the length and angle of the aerial might be successful.
If it is a fixed radio with an external aerial of an omnidirectional type you should replace it with a directional type with a fairly high gain.
A/C Adapter Noise and Interference
I just got my radio and home kit today, the hi pitched noise is awful so I looked online and found you. I finally hooked the car adapter into a wall plug adapter and volla- NO NOISE! Whew.
It's a $9 adapter I got for my ipod car adapter....just has a hole to plug in the car adapter and you plug it into the wall.
...good luck
The static level is so
Under menu, select FM frequency. Try using different frequency. A nearby FM station could be bleeding its signal onto the FM frequency your unit is using by default.
My roady xt stopped getting channels 70-78, I've had the signal resent but it still won't work?
First, make sure that you have a very good signal - check channel 1 audio. Then go to the MENU and 'RESET' to factory settings.
Then call SiriusXM and have them send a 'REFRESH' signal - leave it on channel 1 for about 20 minutes, then check and see if you have Channel #4 - if you do, then dial-up Channel 71 - you should have Sinatra - UNLESS, you have a MUSIC-ONLY subscription, which limits your channels to only the specified ones. But, with XM Select or higher, you should have channel 71 again. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.
Sirius radio problems
I would do the following, hoping one of them works.
1) DISCONNECT the power to the radio and SiriusXM unit to "clear" it. Then reconnect and ask Sirius to resend signat.
2) Ask Sirius to UNSUBCRIBE that radio so it is deactivated. Then, have them reactivate and resend programing signal.
3) Be sure your car is outside under clear sky when Sirius sends the program signal.
4) It is possible the antenna cable to your unit is loose at the connections and/or damaged. A weaker signal may get your stations, but may prevent the additional Navigational signals. Have the antenna checked thoroughly and tested. If car is still under warranty, this should be a covered diagnostic/repair.
5) Finally, be sure the correct Radio Serial Number is being activated. If your radio works, that is one service. But maybe they are putting a wrong number by some chance into the system to fix this one? For example, you have TWO radios in TWO cars. Are they sending the turn on signal to the WRONG radio? Not as farfetched as you might think.
Good luck!
