Has it ever come off while using it? If so, there may be burrs on the drive teeth making the chain wider than the bar opening, also if there is no oil getting to chain while operating chain could bind from heat, check sprocket on the bar tip for blockage and inspect the clutch bearing.
The brake has activated, so needs to be re loaded before it will go back over the drum, there are a number of ways to do this, you can remove the clutch and sprocket, the brake will then go back onto the saw and you can load it with the hand guard on the saw, the clutch is spun onto the crank with a left hand thread, use a screw driver in the cut a ways in the clutch, strike the screw driver with a suitable hammer against the compression of the saw to jar it off, you could also remove the 2 screws holding the hand guard on, remove the hand guard and use this as a tool to load the brake ( with the band facing you twist the hand guard anti clock wise )
The cover was probably removed with the chain brake set. Unfortunately, the brake must be reset in the cover with a wide blade screwdriver used in the coupling that connects with the handle mechanism. This will expand the brake band allowing it to go over the clutch drum. Good luck!
You'll definitely have to unlock the chain brake to get the cover back on. You should be able to unlock it by pushing the chain brake handle forward, toward the bar and chain when mounted on the saw.
Use a heavy, wide blade, square-shanked screwdriver to turn the coupling in the cover to 'release'. You may need an open end wrench on the screwdriver shaft to get enough torque to turn the brake coupling. Hope this helps!
Your Manual nor IPL mention an oiler adjustment..
445 IPL (may not be your saw)
Is this the original bar? A longer bar requires more oil and your saw is not equipped to supply it. http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/USA/2007/I07000/I0701086.pdf
Detail B (Clutch/Drum/Oiler)
We are seeing many of these does not oil/oils to much problems with these no adjustment models. I recommend you contact Husqvarna, there may be an unannounced recall/repair. If they aren't willing to help you consider contacting your Atourney General and the BBB.

It has an outboard clutch, the oil pump is behind it. If you attempt a repair this will be helpful. R² Drive Link Outboard Clutch by Drivelink.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdqkIuVNUQc
Check the IPL for your saw to see if any special tools are needed.
There are metal piston stops available, when square (almost never) with the piston top these work well, if not square they have been known to punch through the piston. I suggest a length of starter cord or nylon rope be used instead of the piston stop (retain 6" ± so you can remove it). Make sure the piston is near the top of the cylinder before feeding the cord or it can fall through the exhaust port and damage the piston as it rises.
Everyone I’ve ever removed had a left handed thread (tighten it to loosen it). Let us know how it worked for you.

HI. I HAVE USED THEM SAWS FOR 25 YEARS. WELL IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BRAKE IS INGAGED IF NOT YOU WELL HAVE TO LOSEN THE BRAKE OFF UNTIL IT WILL GO ON.WATCH OUT FOR DIRT IN BACK OF BAND. LET ME KNOW.
the only way to get the cover back on that i have found is to take the clutch drum off, after the drum is off you reinstall the cover, pull the brake back to the of possition.take the cover back off, reinstall the drum, put cover back on.it's a real pain to do it this way but i've never figured out any other way.husqvarna doesn't know any other way either.hope this helps, let me know
the flywheel does not have a brake, the clutch side has the break.if you have the chain side cover off the brake is no longer on the clutch drum.the fly wheel is on the oppiset side (starter rewind).take the starter rewind off and see if the motor will turn.if hte motor turns the problem is in the clutch side.if it doesn't the problem is in the flywheel side.the ignition coil has been known to loosen up.the screws streitch out from heat.check the air gap between the flywheel magnets and the ignition coil.should be .10 to .12 inches.if problem is on clutch side check to make sure that the springs are on between the clutch discs.they have been known to break and that does not let the chain spin on bar.any questions get me an e mail
