My Maytag Atlantis large capacity plus (2001) works but worries I may be pushing my luck. I don’t want to replace it because I LOVE how I can select water levels and it has truely been a WORKHORSE!! Periodically easily goes off balance. 8 yrs ago, had belt replaced and repairman said next time there is a problem, replace it because it is slowly leaking oil. What would it cost to “OVERHAUL” this workhorse to get another life from it???

GOING OFF BALANCE MAY BE SIMPLE MATTER OF AJUSTING LEG LEVELERS AT BOTTOM, OR MAY HAVE TO REPLACE COUNTER BALANCE RODS IF IT HAS THEM, ELSE YOU CAN CHECK IF IT HAS CONCRETE BALANCE WEIGHT OR BROKEN TUB SPRINGS LOCATED FROM TUB TO FRAME.

SOURCE: Control panel lights OK; Won't start into cycles

Hey, just had the same problem with my 9150. Moisture got into the electronic key pad. $300 to replace it. I was 5 months out of warranty.

I called 800-688-9900 and Maytag agreed to cover the part and we have to cover the labor. Not completely satisfied but a little bit helps.

SOURCE: subaru loyale wagon replacing the timing belt

Get a proper manual like Haynes (amazon, parts store, Haynes.com).  You should not have to take either main pullel or cam pulley off to change timeing belt,  you DO want a new tensioner and and new idler pulley (if there is one).  Failure to replace these may result in a later failure that wipes out the blet, and possibly the motor (if it is an interference motor).
If you can change the oil pump from working on the front side of the motor, you are either a magician or a contortionist;!) and I need you to help me work on my car;~)    It's pretty rare for an oil pump to go bad before 400K km or 300K miles  ... the bloddy things are in a constant bath of oil!

SOURCE: High oil Consumption, BMW M5

Look for Castrol TWS 10W60 Motor Oil. This car should not burn so much oil, you need to use a different kind. It is recommended by BMW as well. I also heard the VANOS isnt an issue anymore, can be fixed with a different MAFF. Good luck!

SOURCE: maytag atlantis washer got water leaking from

I have an Atlantis myself. There can be several problems. Did you check that the fill hoses in the back are not leaking? Are they tight? There are hoses inside the washer and a pump near the front. I replaced my pump last year and I,m getting ready to replace the thrust bearing assembly (spin issues). Does the washer leak with every load? make sure water is not splashing over the tub when filling. The front panel comes off if you can and leave off and watch to see where water is coming from.

I'd like to know the cubic foot capacity of my 6 plus year old maytag MED5820tw0 electric dryer. It needs several repairs so I want to replace it with something larger.

I'm having trouble finding the exact capacity of your dryer, but I believe it is around 7.0 cu ft, which is about as large as you can get in a standard-width home dryer.

Looking for this answer too. Judging by your question's age my search might as well be for Atlantis. Anywho, in the first link below a user claims the capacity to be 16 gallons for standard (large) and 19 gallons for extra. I put this into Google and got 2.14 cf for 16 gal and 2.5 cf for 19 gal.

Leaking from bottom

Sounds like the tub seal. My MAV2755AWW (Maytag Atlantis top loader) is doing the same thing right now. Here is the solution I found: http://www.applianceaid.com/washer-tub-seal-replacement.php.

Caution: You'll need some tools, like a spanner wrench for your model...order this now of you plan to do this work yourself. You can find it for 15 dollars online, but if you go to Maytag, it can cost you upward of 90 dollars. You can get a tub seal kit for about 60 dollars. The cost for a repair tech to do this job was almost $300...gauge the $75 you going to spend plus the hours of work if you don't know what you're doing, against this cost. Good luck!

We've got a Maytag MDE6000AYQ dryer that we love. It started squeaking two loads ago. It would squeak off and on during the cycle. This next load seemed to squeak worse, so I'm worried to use it any...

The squeak is most likely from the drum support rollers or the drum bearing. If it's the rollers, they're fairly easy to replace and often a drop of lubricant will solve the problem. This is just one supplier of such parts:

Need to know a little more info. Need to know if this noise starts when you first turn it on (during the fill up cycle), once the actual washer starts (wash cycle) or when it goes into spin cycle.
