Turn it off then back on. If it is still in service mode something is wrong - take it back to your dealer.

How can I access the Service program soft keys on my Bernina 830 when the Touchscreen is not calibrated ? The soft keys on the screen have either letters or numbers, can I attach a keyboard ?

If the touchscreen on your Bernina 830 sewing machine is not calibrated, it may be difficult to access the Service program soft keys. However, you may still be able to access the Service program using the following steps:
  1. Turn off your Bernina 830 sewing machine.
  2. Hold down the Reverse button and the Needle up/down button simultaneously.
  3. While holding down these buttons, turn on the sewing machine.
  4. Continue to hold down the Reverse and Needle up/down buttons until the Service program screen appears.
  5. Once you are in the Service program, you can navigate using the numbered soft keys that appear on the screen.
As for attaching a keyboard, it is not possible to directly connect a keyboard to the Bernina 830 sewing machine. However, some users have had success using a USB to Serial adapter to connect a keyboard to their sewing machine. This method may require additional software and configuration to work properly, and it is not officially supported by Bernina.

How do I get out of the Bernina service program screen

Up in the right upper corner of the screen are 3downward lines. Hit on that and a screen will pop up and you can print it or there is an EXIT button to get out of the program. Good luck!

I have a Bernina 450, can you determine usage on this machine and if so how? Thanks in advance.

Not all embroidery machines have a stitch counter. If it is not in the manual, you could check with your Bernina dealer.

A Bernina is worth annual trips to the dealer for service.

Programmed stitches on the 160

As a Bernina tech I can tell you to try adjusting the stitch balance with the small knob on the side + or -. Just in little increments until they start to look right. Maybe this has gotten turned too far off. If this doesn't help (50/50), worst case scenario most likely the small gear has been jarred loose or has skipped a tooth to the stepping motor which means a tech will have to reset this and balance it from the inside. There are also steps to take in the service program but again this would be a job for a tech. I suggest you get the whole clean, oil and adjust as this would be included in that.
