Bernina 1080 stitch length and needle jumping problem
you will most likely find that just adjusting the stitch length and width controls for a while will correct the problem (if the machine has been sitting idle for some time the stepper motor linkages seem to stiffen up a bit but i have good success with continual adjustment until they free-up.
also try switching machine off and on again to ensure it resets correctly.
the combination of both above fixes works 95% of the time - otherwise, as you mentioned circuit board and or stepper motor replacement may be necessary (however if both length and width are playing up it is unlikely to be an electrical fault).

My Bernina 1090 in which I have had for 20 years
if you just had it serviced & it has not been 30 days, I would take it back & have them check it again.
if that's your only sewing machine, I would recommend that you get another machine as a back up or a new machine & use the other as a back up
I have a mechanical & electronic sewing machine, that way if I'm servicing one I can use the other
Bernina Buttonhole foot #3A
Hi, you must have an 1130S which means it could also be a circuitboard issue. If the LED/LCD light for the buttonholer does not flash you either need a new RET-Print (circuitboard) or a new buttonhole foot. Sorry to say that you DO more than likely need a new buttonhole foot according to my manual on this machine. No way to repair the foot that I know of.
You should bring the machine in and try it first.
Guess not all news is good news. Sorry.

Needle threader not lining up with eye of needle
On mine, I just pushed the needle threader to let it line up with your needle when you have the lever down, look at the little wire to see what it is hitting on the needle. My first machine with a needle threader had the little wire missing so I thought that I was doing something wrong, luckily JoAnn's had a Viking store inside and she showed me. So, I called Singer and they sent me a new one.
I tried to use a
When you thread the top thread, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot so the thread will seat completely in the tension disk. If this doesn't improve the stitch, try tightening the top tension. If it is too loose, the bobbin thread will lay on the surface of the fabric. When the top tension is tightened, it will pull the bobbin thread up into the fabric.
Bernina 1630
I have a Bernina Virtuosa so not the same machine - but this may help. There is an icon on the front of the machine - it is a needlepoint pointing at a dot in an oval - there are arrow buttons on either side. These move the needle left or right of center and it shows on LED screen. I checked mine just now and if you turn machine off and on it resets to center automatically. Hope this helps - Happy Sewing!!
How much does one sell for
The selling price is greatly dependent on the physical and working condition and the accessories included. If the one you have is really nice, you might try selling it on Craigslist instead of eBay because Bernina afficionados will pay a good value if they are able to visually see and test the machine. However, some people on eBay pay way too much for a machine they have seen only in pictures.

Looping stitches
Hello Shirley, I suggest you make sure the machine is threaded correctly. If you have a factory manual, that would be a help. It sounds as though the needle thread is not threaded through the take up arm and/or take up arm spring. The needle thread tensioner might be too loose.
My wonderful Bernina 1130 has
Contact an authorized Bernina dealer/repair center. The service technician can often tell what board needs to be worked on, take it out and send to Bernina. I just had to have work done on my 1130 and that is what was done. If that does not work, look up the number and call Bernina USA directly so they can direct you. While it's true that some parts are no longer obtainable, the machine boards can be serviced by Bernina USA. It's worth fixing.
Where can I find an instruction manual for bernina virtuosa 160?
Here is a link to a sewing machine part company where you can order the manual. It is $19, but I think well worth it if you have the machine. Good luck! That is a nice little machine. http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/instruction-manual-bernina-virtuosa-160.aspx
What is presser foot 37 for
The Bernina foot 37 is called the 'Patchwork Foot'. It is very useful in piecing quilt tops as the foot features an accurate 1/4" and 1/8" on both sides of the needle. It also has a 1/4" guide in front and behind the needle to allow accurate 1/4" stops and starts from the end of the pieces being stitched together.
An excellent reference guide is available on line at:
