see your local dealer and tell them you have a bad power board. or l-print. this is a known issue and bernina is covering it under there 5 year warranty. the 5 volt output is faulty on some some models

I don't have a bernina.. but on my Janome... I have to "tell" it what size I'm using by selecting it from the menu.

Calibrate the diplay The Display calibration can be opened as follows: - turn off the sewing-/embroidery computer - touch the two needle positioning buttons on the front panel and keep them pressed - turn on the sewing-/embroidery computer and release the buttons as soon as the Display appears - touch the calibration icon - touch the center of the cross using the touch pen -- the cross moves to the next position - repeat this until all three positions shown are calibrated -- the Display is closed -- the adjustment is saved

Basically it is a matter of a stuck part. Flip open the top by prying up on the front or ends of the lid. You already noticed the hinges on the back. When you get it open, exercise the right hand lever on top (marked ZZ at bottom and 1-20 at top. If you look just to the right of this lever against the back wall you will see that it moves a little part back and forth into triangle shaped grooves. The part is not going completely into the grooves so drop some oil in there and exercise it a few more times, using your fingers if necessary to make the part move into the triangle grooves at the front and back. After a while it will loosen up where it should operate by itself smoothly . Hope this helps, I know it will.

If the machine won't power up its most likely a problem with the power board inside of the machine. I have replaced a bunch of bad power boards on the 600 and 400 series Berninas over the years. The 600 and 400 series machines use the same board. I service and sell lightly used Berninas on eBay under the user name bushvideo.

There are two tension adjustments, which should be done with a proper set of weight gauges - top and bottom thread tension should be carefully balanced to get the best stitch formation. It is best that you assume the top tension is correct and adjust the bobbin tension to match. Load the bobbin with thread of one colour and put a spool of the same thread but a different colour on the top. Thread-up the machine, load the bobbin and sew-off a satin-stitch on max width zig-zag. In this configuration, there should be a very small 'bead' of the top thread showing along each side of the satin-stitch on the underside of the material. If there's excessive top showing, the bobbin tension is too high and if none, the bobbin tension is too low. To adjust the tension, remove the bobbin case and you will see a spring around the edge with two screws through it. One of the screws holds the spring in place and the other adjusts the tension - this is furthest from the edge of the spring and is in a small 'cup' in the spring itself. To reduce tension, turn the screw VERY SLIGHTLY anticlockwise and to increase it turn it clockwise. Make very slight adjustments and re-check sewing-off the satin-stitch every time until you get the required thin line of top showing down each side of the stitch on the underside. Ideally this should be done with Mettler Metrosene thread, but as we're just balancing against the top tension, it shouldn't matter too much provided you use a good thread top and bottom.

I'm not real familiar with this issue but my first thought is the format of the program is wrong. You have to have the right format or the program is similar to you reading Chinese.

Often it has to do with overload and or the side port has a faulty soldering joint. Either replace at cost of $120 including labour or remove port and solder loose joint

Do you mean the multi-part condenser that's used across the motor windings, or the one in the foot controller ?

Suggest taking it for service. This appears to be a machine malfunction that probably calls for a professional to resolve.

working with Electrical parts "wires" is not something i would recommend unless you are an electrician but how ever i would try a new bulb first if that doesn't cure it i would take it back to your repair man who repaired it before

Oh, you may need to have a technician do that. The feed dogs need to be installed to certain specifications that are difficult to do without the proper tools and knowledge.
