I have a ion IDM05 drum I know it old and is there any software to use to make it work

The ION IED01 electronic drum kit requires the "brains" module to function properly. The module is responsible for converting the signals from the drum pads and cymbals into MIDI data that can be interpreted by a computer or other device. Without the module, the pads and cymbals will not produce any sound or trigger any MIDI data. Unfortunately, it is not possible to bypass the module and connect the USB cable directly to your laptop. You will need to obtain a replacement module in order to use the drum kit.

There is NO POLARITY to worry about since you MUST use an adapter that supplies 9 volts AC at around 850ma. You CANNOT use a DC adapter with this unit and have it work. Putting a DC adapter of 9 volts on it won't damage it, it just won't work.

AC output adapters are harder to find.

It is hard to tell from your description exactly what you are connecting to...maybe a PC? We are not mind readers out here...

I will ASSUME it is a PC or other computer. If the cabling is solid it should remain connected HOWEVER if there are other programs running in the background, they can **** the resources causing data overruns which can terminate the connection. Shut DOWN all resource hogs such as Wireless Internet, Antivirus, Antispyware, antiadware while using the system and see if that helps. These hog programs come in randomly and do their own thing taking resources that might be required to staay connected to your device. Make sure the drum set and the otehr device are BOTH pwered from the same receptacle or source.

One other problem MIGHT be static electricity discharges... this is the season for it and a zap that you can't even feel is enough to send the controller and links into never never land for a bit. Try palying without clothes that might builld up static.

There is an option in the game menu to only allow the controller to navigate. My guess is you have this option set.

Go to Menu (Start button)
Modifiers
check the Drum Navigation option.

I had the same problem, still doesn't connect. I got Joy to Key application and Battery 3 demo and mapped the pads to the keyboard letters of the laptop and now it works, got the idea from:

Why not download the .pdf's for it from the manufacturer's page? It's easy!

Then you can save them to your computer and/or print them out.

I think it's plug and play. Plug the record player in the usb slot, let your computer find it, turn on your recording program, drop the needle on the record.

always use the newest (highest) version number so in this case use the CD version of the software.

I hear it is only on a cd that comes with the set. I am expecting in a few days. Check to see that it is not included with the software you received. Let me know as I will be installing in a few short days.
