I bought this monitor used and it worked on the computer at the store, but the computer was already on and booted up./ When I brought it home, my computer will not boot up or recognize the monitor. I get a little picture of a tower an X and a monitor, which makes me assume the tower is not recognizing the monitor. I changed the cord to the monitor and still get the same thing. Windows opens the "windows, XP" screen then everything goes black and then i get that picture and the monitor goes into hibernate. I don;t know what else to do.
Resolution set too high for display.
Attach TUBE monitor, Start Windows, change resolution to 1024x768 (MAX) and then hit APPLY/OK.
Also check refresh rate, it is listed in hertz (hz) in advanced settings. Should be 70-72khz not faster than either.
Shut down PC, Connect LCD, you should have a decent picture.

Windows XP boots up fine with the new HP tower, and I get the desktop on the screen for about three seconds before the screen goes black and I get the logo for no signal input or "No Sync." Attached the same monitor to an old Gateway and it works fine. Any ideas here?
