If nothing is working, place your thermostat to emergency heat and your gas furnace or electric air handler heat strips should energize

Really not enough info to give a good answer yet... was it cooling your home good before you switched to heat? If it wasn't, then most likely your system is low on refrigerant... when it is suppose to be on, check to see that your outdoor unit is coming on, if it is on and the outside unit looks like a block of ice or starting to ice over, the defrost control board has failed and needs replaced.. hope that helps

I have a Haier heat pump (HR42D1var) and the condenser fan will turn off before the compressor dose. It just started doing this. What do I need to check?

it is likely controlled by a temp sensor, runs as needed.

In heat mode it is acting as a heat pump. You must have the exhaust connected to the outside air.

The only problem that you might have is with the coils and the flux capacitor. If you clean the coils, it should be fine.

The room my dehumidifier is in stays 80 degrees when the Haier is runnng. why

A dehumidfier works by heat, so it puts out a lot of heat that is exhausted back into the room. An air conditioner works with heat also and it also takes the humidity out of the air, BUT it exhaust to the outside.
