OK, THANK YOU! I appreciate your help. Yes the camera D7000 has F mount and the Vivitar says it is, however there are many that say it doesn't work. I will look at some of your suggestions. Thank you!

the problem is that Auto focus will not work plus since the D7000 is a DX sensor and not a full frame 35mm sensor you will get vignette also that teleconverter was made for a manual film camera that's why they said it will not work , you are going to have to focus manually.

Right, I understand. Thanks for your help; it's much appreciated.

SOURCE: I'd like to purchase a micro lens for my Nikon

If the Phoenix lens is autofocus (AF) in Nikon mount, it will work with the D90. You may find that you want to switch to manual focus when you are using it for macro shots for better control of focus. It will still set exposure properly when set to manual focus.

Need to convert a Vivitar 70-150mm telephoto from Canon TX to Nikon FTn mounts

Vivitar made several different 70-150mm lenses. If the lens has a T-mount then you can purchase a Nikon T-mount adapter and replace the Canon one on the lens. If the lens does not have a T-mount then you're out of luck. Nikon cameras have thicker bodies than Canon cameras, and an adapter would have to have negative physical size.

I need to convert a vivitar 28-200mm to fit a nikon d5000

You could buy one with Amazon for 11 dollar.
Be aware the lens is complete manual and possible very difficult to use, because toy have to set everything by hand. (lens and camera)

85mm 1.4 is not metering exposure on my nikon d7000

It is a manual focus lens. That is for sure. The D7000 only can meter, when a lens is fitted with a chip. Usually the Nikon AF lenses. (other brands like Sigma that are compatible) To my knowledge the Vivitar is not. You only can use this lens in Aperture-priority and manual exposure. See a discussion on Nikon forum about this lens, that is capable of shooting brilliant pictures.

Is the nikorF AF 35 to 105mm Lens compatible to Nikon D7000? How about tamron 70 to 210mm with 52 adaptor?

The Nikkor lens is fully compatible. The Tamron is dependent on the mounting. Tamron makes lenses for a variety of cameras. A lens with a Canon mount, for example, will not fit onto a Nikon camera. If the lens has a Nikon mount, there should be no problem using it with the D7000.

Remember that the D7000's sensor is smaller than a frame of 35mm film. This will cause the lenses to produce a field of view that is smaller than on a 35mm camera. The 35-105mm, for example, will give a field of view similar to what a 53-160mm would produce on a film camera.

Using vivitar 70-300 lens

Yes and yes. Bear in mind that not all features may work. You probably won't get autofocus or metering with the Nikon D90, for example.

I want to use fairly telephoto lens in D3 slr nikon camera

You don't say what sort of telephoto you want to buy or how much money you want to spend but basically anything longer than a 50 mm is regarded as telephoto.
A staring point for you maybe the lens listed below: Nikon Telephoto Zoom 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED AF-S VR
It importantly has VR or "Vibration Reduction" on it to reduce camera blur when hand holding telephoto shots. This is just a staring point... You need to work out what you want to photograph Cheers Ian

Vivitar telephoto lense 500mm

Yes and no. If it doesn't come with one, you'll need a T-adapter for Nikon in order to mount the lens (you can get one from Vivitar, as well as from other manufacturers). The lens is not an autofocus lens, so obviously you will have to focus manually. It's also a mirror lens so it has a fixed aperture. It's what Nikon classifies as a non-CPU lens, so you cannot use the D90's exposure meter. You will have to shoot in Manual mode.
