Likely your battery has failed and you need to replace the unit. If you have test meter you can test the charger output to see if it matches the rating on the outside of the case, Rechargeable batteries fail from being dropped, or charged continually especially if they are not run down to zero before recharging. You can try to drain the battery fully then recharge overnight as a test.

Shark rotator will not power on

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

Your Shark vacuum is equipped with a motor protective thermostat. If for some reason your vacuum overheats, the thermostat will automatically turn the unit off. Should this occur, you would need to restart the motor thermostat. Turn off your unit and unplug the vacuum from the power. Clean the filters and dust cup filters. Check for blockages in hose, accessories and inlet openings. Then allow the unit to cool for a minimum of 45 minutes before plugging it back and turning it on.

You can purchase a wide variety of high quality Shark replacement parts for your Shark vacuum direct from Think Crucial with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

Shark navigator will not turn on

Plugged in:
Try moving the cord around at the strain relief, where cord enters the vac, as internal wires may have broken.
Unplugged:
Check brushes of electric motor, they may be worn down.
Unplugged:
Check main switch continuity with a meter on ohms or buzzer.
Limits:
No.
But there could be a thermal fuse either in or on the motor, to avoid overheating damage and smoke signals!

I may have overcharged my battery cause it won't work now...the Shark Sweeper#APL1172 (8.4Vdc) says I have to us a KA12D00015023u. Thanks for any help you can give...and where do I get what I need?

Stop purchasing battery operated Shark Vacuum products until they stop using those cheapa** Chinese Nickel-Cadmium cells! I'd rather buy alkaline "D" batteries.
