I have a kenmore 10670187000 refrigerator. The freezer compartment is filling with water from, which I suspect, is the ice maker filler tube. Once full the lower section of the fridg starts filling water. I can fill the ice container full before noticing water buildup in the ref. section below. I noticed that water shoots out the top opening of the filler tube. I put a 5/8" plastic tube over it to keep water in the filler tube. this helps. Water is still finding its way into the bottom of the freezer. I am wondering if there is a crack in the filler tube that is out of view. If so, how do I replace the filler tube? Is it as easy as pulling it out from the back of the ref?
You pull it out from inside the freezer but I would try melting any ice that may be stopping it up first with a hairdryer. The water inlet valve on the back of fridge is probably leaking and when the water gets to to fill tube it freezes and partially blocks the tube causing it to spray out. Disconnect the line coming out of the water inlet valve to see if it has a slow leak. You may need to replace the valve.
