The water leak happens almost evereyday. I guess the defrosted water drainage was blocked and caused the melting water to leak from the Styrofoam insert down.

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Excessive water left behind and posible leak. What is the best way to trouble shoot the cause and fix the problem ?

Hi your problem is most likely the suds valve, also known as the check valve piston, if it's worn out this will cause water to be left behind. It should be located towards the back of the dishwasher. There are two flap valves that could also cause the problem one is in the main pump and the other in the check valve body which connects to your drain. As for the leak, I had a similar problem and it was leaking where the drain solenoid o-ring is located. If that's not where it is leaking, then inspect all areas where there are any hose clamps for mineral deposits then either replace the hose or tighten clamps if necessary.

A lot of water leaking

You probably have a clogged drain line. Unplug the fridge for 24-48 hours with a towel by the drip pan for a simple fix.

The freezer compartment leaks into the refrigerator behind the light on our TBX18TAZCRWH

Remove the food and the ice maker ( if equipped ) from the freezer . Remove the 2 screws holding the bottom panel , and the 2 screws holding the rear freezer air duct and remove these parts . Slide the styrofoam vent up and out . Remove the rear freezer panel . Using a hair dryer , in the middle , just below the coils , defrost , until you see the drain hole . Keep defrosting this hole ( hot water helps ) , until water starts to flow thru . Using a small hose inserted into the drain hole , blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the line . Remove any ice in the freezer section . Re-assemble .

Hotpoint. Water is leaking from behind light bulb

The drain hose in the back of your freezer is frozen shut. The water you see is coming from the defrost cycle. Turn off the refrigerator. Remove the floor from your freezer and remove/thaw all of the ice. Locate the drain in the back of the freezer. It may be behind the back panel. Thaw the drain until water flows freely through it. Reassemble the freezer, and you are back in business.

Top freezer leaks water into lower fridge on our sears kenmore #70267990

The answer to finding the cause of the leak is where we need to begin. Most start in the freezer section behind the rear panel where the defrost condensate is drained during defrost. Sometimes the drain hole freezes over and the water drains down into the freezer creating a large area of frozen water. Other times i happens as the water leaves the drain in the freezer and follows its path to the pan below your refrigerator to re evaporate into the air inside your home. If leaking inside the fresh food compartment then the cup behind the control panel may be over flowing and leaking down the back wall of the refrigerator and will need to be taken apart and cleaned to allow the water to continue down to the pan below the refrigerator. Sludge and dust or even ice may be blocking this line. Below is a link to a page that may help you resolve and fix this. If you have more questions feel free to let me know. Water is leaking into the refrigerator.

most likely the defrost drain in the freezer is frozen shut. take out the back wall of the freezer and check under the evaporator. if its a whirlpool built kenmore you may find a sheet of ice on the floor of the freezer under the plastic floor/tray. if this is the case, remove ice, thaw drain with a turkey baster and hot water. wrap a piece of thicker copper wire (pencil lead size approx), around the defrost heater and push into drain about 2-3 inches, making sure it doesn't touch the sides of the drain, this will keep the drain from freezing shut. if its a frigidaire built remove the control from the inside of the ref and silicone around the opening where the water drains from the freezer into the drain cup that is built into the back of the control panel. that will keep the water from running along the ceiling of the ref and dripping. hope this helps. if not put model number with problem.
