I have hp psc 1410 which work fine otherwise but its scanner is not working.

HI UNINSTALL THE SCANNER SOFTWARE AT THE CONTROL PANEL AND REINSTALL THE SOFTWARE AGAIN. THIS WILL WORK FOR YOU. HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU.

I had the same experiences before.

What I always do is I unplug the scanner's usb cable and then switch usb ports till i find which port it will work.

In some cases this solution didn't work, I replace the usb cable with a new one. I always buy usb 2.0 compliant cable.

HP psc 1410 all scans and copies are a total black

Yes, either the lamp or photo sensors in the scan assembly. You need a torx driver to remove the top and back covers and check that all ribbon cables are plugged in fully, sometimes a poor connection can cause that problem.

1. install the driver disk for HP PSC 1410 All-In-One InkJet Printer.
2. Open the flap & put a image or paper.
3. press Scan button.
4. Scan copy will come in your computer.

I just hooked my hp 1410 psc up to my new laptop (windows vista) for the first time and it will not scan. I also do not have the original software. Will it still work?
